should having sec offficials to referee scrimmages be illegal?
Posted by pensatom on 1/10/10 at 12:14 pm
it's like having them on pay roll. it is damn smart. if they won't
call it at a scrimmage, they won't call it in game. it gets them
on your side, while getting to scout their tendencies. at the
very least their should be equal access to all officials for all
schools, or some type of guideliness followed by all the schools.
for instance, if referees call your scrimmages, they can't call your
games.

can anybody defend coach stud remaining as offensive line coach?
Posted by pensatom on 1/10/10 at 8:47 am
the offensive line was the weakest part of the team in 2009.
if the offensive line is not so inept, the defensive numbers are better, the qb is better and the running backs are better. time management isn't even a issue, when you can run the ball and have a 10 point lead. lsu wins a few more games. hitt and black regressed during their senior season & that is inexcusable. barksdale may have as well. a new center and guard are a little light, but lsu hardly substitutes. shouldn't light linemen be better a pass blocking. does stud even teach technique. they should have left daworzack as a blocking tight end.
miles said this may be the best offensive line he
ever coached. how can a head coach with an offensive line
background be so delusional. can you imagine saban
making the same blunder with the defensive backfield.
NO! poor offensive line play painted crowton into a corner
with a young qb. he did try to get a litlle too cute especially
with time winding down.
football always boils down to
the weakest part of the team. our players deserve an offensive
line coach of nfl caliber and experience. i consider myself a
miles supporter, but i had to vent.
texas d line is light

ends 230's, tackles 270's. were they designed to defense the
spread? texas's offense is one dimensional. this is gonna be
an arse kicking of epic preportions. this whooping could shape
college football for the next decade. i will be happy to eat crow

he is tall enough &, has good hands. supposedly very impressive
catching passes out of the backfield.

re: Why would we only sign 20 recruits next year?
Posted by pensatom on 1/6/10 at 8:31 am
only counted 9 seniors for next year, probably at most loose
5 to attrition. maybe sign some greyshirts. i want to be wrong,
but i don't see us signing 20.

Posted by pensatom on 1/6/10 at 8:18 am
on rivals, an article a week or so ago, implied they weren't; something like lache hasn't heard from lsu in a while.

we have no control over an official's individual call. each player only
has control over their own behavior.

any chance saints get tebow
Posted by pensatom on 1/4/10 at 6:22 am
great for short yardage situations as a fullback or
running qb. he can get the best tutelage from drew, and
he will be able to take over in a couple of years when drew
is more likely to be injured in the later part of his career,
brunnel is a wasted spot roster at this stage.
a back up qb like tebow is worth a number one, because
he can be used in a lot of ways.

personal foul at game's end bonehead

the coaches need to compile all the bone head plays from
last season, and try to teach their players poise. it's not
necessarily what happens on the field, it is the way things
look on the field. lsu has no control as to whether the pac 10
officials stop the clock, but lsu does have control as to the way it looks. trying to help a flailing lineman up is one thing, but tossing him into your own linemen is another. that doesn't help lining up.that kind of behavior could cause a brawl, an official should call it as well as they should have stopped the clock. if hitt would have made it look better, the officials might have put seconds back.
