8-4 would be a good season for Gus

if he has another 8 win season next year then he'll be gone. he needs to win atleast two out of the four between Clemson. lsu. Georgia and bama which is doable since one will be without its QB and the other has a goofball as its new head coach

LSU will have more talent and better coaching next year. And I'm just talking about coordinators.

Auburn lost 3 of those games this year and was lucky to beat LSU.

On the contrary, Gus's shite-show red-zone play calling ended up garnering Auburn only 6 FGs when it should have been so much more.

So the "lucky" team in that game was LSU.

Should be pretty good, 'cause he can sling it. How is he at the read option/running the ball? Not that he necessarily has to for AU to be successful, but Gus's offenses at AU have been at their best when they have a read option QB who's a running threat...

He was the #2 dual threat coming out of HS according to 247.

Auburn will likely be favored in every game outside of Clemson and Alabama.

Wasn't LSU favored in every game coming into this season?..what's your point?

They were a fluke Tennessee Hail Mary away from a chance at 9 wins

That's solid w a new coach, bad OL and a lot of youth starting

GusBus is a 7 win coach who on occasion wins 8 or 9.
If he had Tom Brady at qb that is still his ceiling.

Given our history lately, it'll go something like this:

Preseason #8

Postseason #98

Malzahn has been coaching at the college level for 10 seasons now. 2006-2011 as an OC, 2012-2016 as an HC. He was a high school HC for some 15 seasons prior to that.

2015 was the only time in his career that the team he was coaching finished with fewer than 8 wins.

Looks as if the Ags didn't push or even offer... they like the existing qb situation.

Stidham is a dual threat talent for sure, but with all the qb drama we had in '15, the staff was leary it seems.
...don't forget he pulled a Blake Barnett at Baylor when he didn't get the starting job. He has a "handler" also

Gus will ruin Stidham and still have 70% of the fan base taking up for his shitty coaching job.
