Probably not, but it moved the ball.

Did you know GA Southern actually scored more points against BAMA than any other team this year?

I think you could hit some short passes.

You could, but you're only going to gain about three yards per pass. That's why nobody moved the ball well against BAMA all year. Those little passes in the flat, and guys running shallow across the middle just weren't there.

I think GA Southern scoring more points than anyone else and gaining so many yards had more to do with the game Alabama played the weekend before. The GA Southern game outcome was never in doubt and I think the Alabama players were tired both physically and mentally from the weekend before.

Definitely. They were tired, and we had several key players who didn't even play in the game.

A true 5-wide team could move the ball on Bama. You have to make a defense like that cover the field outside the hash marks. Nick has always said he likes to defend the middle first.

Screens and quick passes. Only run the ball to keep us honest. I think you run a no huddle to tire them out.

Get the LBs moving in a direction, and play action opposite. Oh, and do whatever it takes to avoid 3rd and longs.

To be fair,if you go this route(pun intended),you better be able to go 5 deep in your WR group and RB group.Cause somebody gonna get busted up!

If you're going to throw screens, you better have receivers who block really really well.

Go deep for big plays. Long, sustained drives are nearly impossible against a team that good when they are motivated to play their best.

It was clear for the past 3 seasons we did not have a QB who could run the pitch option.

It'd help if the dumbass didn't pitch the ball three yards before the defender got to him. Hell and Upshaw and Co. would just turn and tackle the rbs because his fakes were so fukn weak. Idk if he was scared to get hit or what.

Vertically?

That's what I would do. Dre was pretty beatable on the deep ball. There were plenty of occasions during the season where receivers had him beat for the long ball, but the qb didn't have time to get it to him.

He was a headhunter in the backfield, but he's not the greatest cover guy.

How come you could see that and I could see that and neither one of us makes close to 4 million a year? Well, I know that I don't make that much, maybe you do

Go downfield early and often. You aren't going to get much on the ground, and if you end up in 3rd and long you are pretty much fricked anyway, so you might as well take your shots on 1st and 2nd down.

Also, wheel routes. It's the achilles heel of Saban's defense.

Yeah, but the vertical bomb plays into the strengh of the D if you go to the well too often. DB's on an island with pressure coming is what Saban likes. The WR may have a DB beat, but the QB is admiring the sky.
