It’s kinda funny to watch the flow of things and the ignorance of so many. I’m not an Arkansas fan but in the mid 90s when they entered the SEC they were feared, not only in basketball but football as well.

I’ve traveled to around 40-45 states and every single one of them has an armpit area. Including Georgia. If you haven’t been to NW area of Arkansas yet then you’re just talking out of your arse.

Lastly, people sure do have short memories. Georgia hadn’t done crap for what felt like decades. I’m too lazy to look up the history but Georgia was one of those “why in the hell can’t they get their $hit together and have some success” type of programs. Nice history but very poor results. Alabama was the same before Saban came. All programs go through it, and I speak from first hand experience.

Anyway, good luck to Georgia but get off your high horse OP.

You really don’t think a natty, a runner up, 3 FFs, 6 elite 8s, and 10 S16s in basketball in the last 25 years warrants slightly higher consideration?

Texas is currently a “why can’t they get their shite together?” Program. You have one natty in like 50 years. Pathetic for school with all the resources you have.

Life would most certainly go on with the loss of any team. Your school is completely useless to everything other than football and women's gymnastics. And until Kirby you were useless for 90% of your lifetime in football.

I don’t give a shite about the elite 8 or the sweet 16. When did you win a natty in basketball over the last 25 years?

“Other than football?” Dude, football is the only thing that matters. It pays for all the other sports.

And we are a huge brand that attracts eyeballs. Significantly more people watch our football games than those who watch Arkansas football games. Georgia is also the 8th most populated state in America. UGA is the most popular team in the state. Losing UGA would be a huge blow to the SEC because of the lost viewership.

It’s unbelievably pathetic that Arkansas fans think that success in Olympic sports earns them a place in our conference. Nobody gives two shite about women’s soccer. Football is the 500lbs elephant. Basketball is important but much less important than football. And yall haven’t won a basketball natty in 30 years.

Tough times for Arkansas fans now that they've 100% without a doubt fallen behind UF in basketball all-time (although some Arky posters will still argue otherwise).

Just because y'all hang banners for making the Sweet 16 doesn't mean the rest of us should care.

I disagree with everything you said but this just kills any argument you may have had.

What are you talking about?

I'm talking about why the amount Texas spends on football is now higher than the number listed. Sarkisian is getting paid over $4m more than he was when that figure was posted, there were raises of several million through the rest of the staff, plus Texas hired on a bunch more.

Texas is going to spend more on NIL because of certain inherent advantages, but no one is saying Texas is spending more on day to day operating expenses. The Florida fan simply opined he thought the Texas number would be higher, and I was explaining why it is higher now than when that number was reported.

And I'm saying, so what? How have the short-horns corned the market on spending and somehow created competitive advantages over the top tier? The bump in salary for Sarkisian is not earth-shattering stuff in the SEC. Most of the head coaches' salaries I just mentioned have happened during the last few years. SEC coordinators are doing as well as your coordinators and would still leave if they had an advantage to better themselves.

This may be more about what you think Austin is paying their players in the NIL era, and to that I say, so what? Spend every penny you have, and I'll show you that BAMA, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, are bringing in equal or better talent.

I'm answering the comment he made that he's surprised the number was so small. That's literally the only reason for the post.

Georgia and Alabama are definitely continuing to bring in talent, although Georgia has a noticeable lack of top tier players for 2026 so far. Signing day is still a few months away, and we're about to enter flip season, so we'll see what happens.

LSU signed a great portal class. We'll see how that works out for them.

OU's 2026 recruiting class is hot garbage. Not sure why you're throwing them in there.

Arguably more valuable than UGA. I think the SEC could lose any one school and not miss a beat.

That means you haven't traveled outside of Atlanta in your own state.

Arkansas barely has a population over three million and has been punching above its weight class for decades across all sports.

Arkansas has had to become an overachiever to be where they are at.

What is the excuse for the eighth most populated state?
