His job is to boost ratings for CBS. If he says Bama still has a chance to make the CFP if they beat Auburn, it gets more people watching the Iron Bowl, helping CBS’ ratings. End of story.

Gary is a pretty insightful commentator. Be careful what you wish for, there's a lot worse out there. And he needs to get off Nick's nuts.

People aren't watching the CBS game because of Gary and certainly he doesn't "boost" ratings one way or another with his statements.
I don't have a problem with the guy.He's a solid analyst that does his homework.My only issue with 'em is his tendency to ramble on and over analyze.

It isn’t the presence of Gary that boosts ratings. He is pimping to try to get everyone to watch the iron bowl. It’s just good business. Whether it actually helps or not is debatable. But that is what is happening.

What Gary said or didn't say during the UGA/AU game will make an infinitesimal difference on the Iron Bowl.
