And if Saban believed that his two top assistants were responsible for a large part of this cultural dysfunction, why is he getting pounded for getting rid of them? Y'all just make up stuff and fling it faster than a chimpanzee throws poop

Definitely Saban’s worst coaching job of his Bama tenure. Some like to point out that we lost 2 road games on the last play but we also won several games that could have easily been lost.

Talent scattered all over but it did not gel into a complete team. Core pieces were missing like an OL that was not at an upper SEC level, abysmal WR development, and a defense that lacked any sense of identity from getting used to Bryce Young bailing them out. Blaming coordinators is just an easy scapegoat. Even if they sucked, thats still on Saban.

I think age is starting to show a little but this coming year will be the real test of whether last year was a fluke. Even with the departures, Bama is still easily the most talented West team.

I think 2010 was by far his worst season at Bama.

You are dumber than a clear plastic sack of hammered dog shite.

I'm aware of the conference rules. You should look up the tie breaker clause.
You can beat your chest for getting close.
I didn't see your bama team in Atlanta last year.
You should be more cognizant of your own stupidity, not projecting onto others.
Talk about hammered dog shite.

This is the same Coach Saban that fired his OC a week before the title game. Coaching is just as much a part of the math as talent and always will be. Pete Golding was finally let go after 5 years of subpar coaching because and only because we hit the saturation point.

Talent vs results just became overwhelming. Even for Coach Saban's ego.

I give 2010 a bit of a pass. Alabama got so good, so fast, that the program wasn’t completely established yet. His first recruiting class was still juniors or sophomores and the losses were to very tough, talented teams with a huge target on Bama’s back. They didn’t yet know how to be a defending national champion. And the QB was Greg McElroy. That team still had a lot of Mike Shula residuals in key positions.

Y'all got shredded by Stephen Garcia in 2010, that wasn't a very tough, talented team.

They will say it was their coordinators, but it’s really a decline in culture.

IMO Saban has his hands in too many pots these days. Between his car dealerships and other business interests he has too many distractions. It hasn't caused a significant drop off in the football program, but just enough.

Is it still the same Saban who fired Lane Kiffin? Because if so, those two sentences above seem contradictory. That same Saban wouldn’t have accepted mediocre defense for 5 years.

And Marcus Lattimore, Alshon Jeffery, Stephon Gilmore…….That SC team and stadium smelled blood and Garcia played the game of his life. I came away from that game not asking how did Bama screw it up, more like wow that SC team and environment really gave it their all.

16/22 of your starters were drafted. SCAR lost 5 games that season, including a 39 point blowout in the SEC title game. Just stop.

I think Alabama used to have a bunch of guys that wanted to play for Alabama because they loved the program and wanted to be a part of it. They were proud to wear the uniform. I think it’s true to a lesser extent now.

Alabama is not alone in this dynamic.

Seeing is believing, isn't it? Coach Saban wasn't putting up with position coaches in this same time frame. Coach Saban has zero tolerance for OL coach Doug Marrone after one season. D-line coach Brian Baker got the pink slip and was moved upstairs and BAMA brought in Freddie Roach. Sal Sunseri gets moved upstairs as OLBer coach.

It was coach Saban's insistence on Pete Golding and only Pete Golding that has defied logic and good sense.
