I don't get it. I know Mizzou fans around St. Louis were actually thinking that this time they might make a splash but it seems to not be in the cards.

Why not hire someone like the UNC Wilmington guy who is an up and comer? I know he had been talked about with the job. Cuonzo Martin seems to be you know exactly what you're getting and that's mediocrity.

Well mediocrity is a huge step up.

I'd have preferred Keatts honestly.

Keatts is just as likely to flop as succeed. Martin has improved every situation he's ever taken over and will be an absolute monster recruiting St Louis which is paramount for us.

Keatts is a roll of the dice. Martin's floor is much higher, and you could argue his ceiling is higher as well. Keatts plays a more entertaining style though.

Lol JQ is flailing around wildly itt trying to convince himself that Clownzo is some kind of splash hire for Mizzou.

Now is Martin's ceiling higher? He's a known quantity. He's been a d1 coach for 7-8 years. His ceiling is somewhere around play-in team.

Exactly. If Mizzou fans think he's the one who is going to take them to a final four, idk what to say... But it ain't gonna happen.

Zo isn't terrible. He just plays a astyle of hoops that make pain drying more interesting BUT he's also the kinda guy ADs loove whenever NCAA trouble hits and/or is fairly new. Solidly mediocre coach that will do enough to make you believe that maybe just maybe but one you would trust your kids/life/wallet with.

That said, he may well recruit well at the Zou. I wish him sucess so so long as I don't have to watch his boring arse shooty hoops of ours I can't wish him well against us. But again, he's not aweful just boring and he severely underachieved with us givn our roster.

Maybe walking helped with some of that but I dunno.

This will be his next two recruiting classes.

5* Micheal Porter Jr

4* CJ Roberts

4* Jontay Porter

5* Carte'Are Gordon

3 of the 4 are power forwards?

Cuonzo was on track to be the most successful UT coach in decades before the rednecks ran him off.

Well that's just not true and I've said nicer things about him than monst. Zo is just boring af and underachieved w/the roster he inherited --- pretty badly too. Good guy not so good coach.
