Clownzo was trash dude. Not even trolling. You're actually praising his coaching during the 13-14 season when VOLS wound up in a play-in game with three NBA players on the roster.

You're typically better than this, Quesadilla.

You mean the year he went to the sweet 16 and won 24 games? Then he was ran off?

Look, Cuonzo would have much better access to recruits at Mizzou. He'd put together some VERY talented teams in short order. Its not pulling Donovan out of the NBA or anything, but it would end up being a very good hire for us.

Cuonzo took a team that had been to the NCAA tourney 7 out of the 8 previous years and missed the tourney twice then skated into a play-in game with 3 NBA players on the roster

Pearl was fading, 19-15 in his last year.

Bruce Pearl was suspended for most of that year, missing around half of SEC play

Pearl took a team at the bottom of the SEC and made them a power, Martin inherited a program at the top of the SEC and didn't even reach Bruce Pearl avg season

No doubt that Missouri will be the most talented #7 seed in NIT history w/ Cuonzo at the helm

Yes, Cuonzo's problem has been lack of talent. Spot on.

LOL, you had the NCAA up your arse and the coach you fired had just received a 3 yr show cause.

It was a rebuild. The actual team he took over wasnt very good, and he took the same guys and finished with a better record than Pearl.

Improved his win total every single year.

Pearl's last team went to the NCAA Tournament. Martin's first team went to the NIT.

Martin's first and second teams had Josh Richardson, Jarnell Stokes and Jordan McRae (all of which play in the NBA now). He went to 2 NITs.

Top of the SEC?

They had just finished 8-8 in the league, had NCAA violations to deal with, had their former coach hit with a show cause, the administration cut the basketball budget, and Vol fans were on his arse from jump street because they didnt want Pearl fired.

He took over a rebuild under an administration that wouldnt support him with a fanbase that didnt want him and STILL turned it around.

Richardson and Stokes were freshman (Richardson wasnt a star coming in. Martin developed him. Stokes was not eligible until 2nd semester). McRae was a sophomore.

8-8 in the league. Best players on his first team are underclassmen.

Yes, thats a rebuild.

UT never wanted him. They never supported him. The opposite in fact. Cut the budget, wouldnt go to games, started a petition to fire him in yr 2, etc. UT set him up to fail, and he still improved them every single year.

Again though, its less about what he did there and more about what he'd do here.

Pearl never finished below 3rd in the SEC in a full season he coached nor missed a NCAAT. He also made an elite 8, aka Mizzou's ceiling

Martin was gifted a NCAAT berth in year 3 despite having 3 NBA players on that team. Seems like a real overachiever that one

Yea, we vividly remember. We kept up with SEC basketball back then.

Richardson is a plus on Martin's resume.

He inherited Stokes and McRae. The argument that he showed up and had no players is silliness. He had a Top 4 roster in the SEC his entire tenure.

Gordita Cruchwrap Supreme is clearly hoping Zo is a good coach and projecting his insecurities onto us

I see the same type of arguments from the UGA posters sometimes. "We fired Richt cause he underachieved with the talent he had. Kirby did bad his first year walked into a rebuild!" Well which one is it? Was the talent there or does Kirby suck?

This isn't college football, teams win with underclassmen as their best players all the time.

Yea buddy, they clearly gave him no support.
