Will be great. This may be the fastest and most athletic defense Saban has built at Alabama. This defense is going to frick some teams up.

SCAR ... we may play four or five true freshmen this year at the most. Three of them probably CBs.

And 2015 returns almost everyone, and adds another great class going for this new mold.

I included Lamont strictly because of Coach Rocker's comments on his proclivities to keep guys fresh and rotating a lot. Recent reports are saying that Lamont came in at a good weight and now that Taylor is off the team, Gaillard could be the beneficiary.

I just think there are too many guys in front of him to get any type of meaningful playing time. He came in in better than expected shape, but that was from a pretty bad starting point. I would guess he could still stand to lose 10-15 more lbs honestly

Do you think anyone will stand a chance against Bama in the next several years?

I wouldn't call it a "fast" defense.

It is a far more "athletic" defense than Bama is used to seeing.

Saban needed to be more flexible in regards to the type of player he was bringing in for his scheme. He has done that, and I do expect Bamas D to be nastier than years past.

21 seems like a lot of freshmen to play but when you remember you guys brought in 30+ in the last class it averages out about right for a team with talent and depth issues.

UTn will take their lumps again this yr but will be improved in 2015. Need to find a QB.

You may be right, but I think these will redshirt, most likely Edwards

Tolliver just got bumped to 1st team* CB. He most likely isn't going to RS at this point.

I do think Kraus, Edwards and Ramirez will redshirt. I would have thrown Hackett in there this morning as well but then Bielema said at media day today that all three of the freshmen LB's will play.

Debo Samuel

Am I missing anybody?

Well, I have us going 10-2 this year, so yeah. That's not even counting a potential bowl loss. I could easily see 10-3.

Then the 2015 team is stacked. They could lose, but it's tough to predict that with the talent/returning experience it'll have. But it's also too early to predict how some of those guys will do.

I see 2014 as another down year, 2015 as another title year, and beyond that it's tough to predict, but thanks for that unnecessary remark. Considering your notion that I predict Alabama to be a dominate force without reason is flawed, I'm just glad you put in the effort.

Agreed. I really hope one of the young QBs start this year just to add continuity for next season. We will be returning like 19 starters in 2015.

No ... I think you nailed it. So it's six. That's really outstanding if we stop and think about it.

ETA: I wasn't counting Shaq Davidson in my head - I'm still not sure they're not thinking about redshirting him this year if he doesn't get 100% healthy soon.

Carter from UGA definitely. Chubb is gonna be a star, but UGA may be better putting a RS on him? With Gurley and Marshall, he is probably better held in reserve unless one gets hurt.

No point. No way he stays for five years, same with Michel.

You never redshirt bigtime backs. UGA learned that lesson with Knowshon

Would this number be different had they all gotten in?

Dante Sawyer and Dexter Wideman are most likely better than any DE on their roster, so yes

I wish a state fan would answer. I can only think of gerri green, jamoral graham, and aeris williams and they will be special teams. Maybe cory thomas. Small class. Veteran team.
