Fenway has fewer seats and smaller seats than most MLB stadiums. They are wooden and uncomfortable. Lot of support poles in the way to block your view.
Best place ever to watch a game.
Much easier to fill that up though than even an 80k football stadium.
Also Americans keep getting fatter and require more room.

Anybody know if this could affect the jaguars? I know they had been looking at using the swamp?
I am thinking it is going to end up being Orlando.

see the idiots in the boxes at Bryant Denny and they aren’t even watching the game. Stadiums are fine at about 80k with less party rooms. Kudos to Florida.
I hate the party rooms too. But usually subtracting seats ends up being countered with those horrible atmosphere sucking suites. They did it to Neyland and I hate it

Georgia has a little place you can walk in on the south endzone and get a view…the other three were just locked up.
UGA does not have a south endzone. The field runs east to west.
The bridge end is the west end zone.

Heard we’re going to really push this through, possibly starting after the 2024 season and finish before 2025, so essentially the jaguars could be playing here in 2025 in a newly renovated Swamp while their dump gets upgraded. Timing will be interesting for sure.

Wonder if they will paint a Tom "I'm so high" Petty mural somewhere.

That’s untrue. Try again spanky.

Ah, the bridge is cool either way. It’s nice to be in the stadium at least once before the visit. We spent time in the stadium locker room…but all the field work was at the outdoor practice fields. Toured everywhere but the actual field…so it was cool to see it on our own.

Yep.
The race to 100k is over.
We’ve all done it and now it is time to make these corporate Sally’s happy.
Less about this and more about more people sitting in front of their 80" tvs with cheap alcohol and air conditioning.
The days of filling a stadium to the brim are over.

If only the powers to be at UT would do this and it make it a much more enjoyable experience for the fans. Capacity at Neyland should be around 90k instead of 102k.
Na, we don’t want the personality and charm replaced by NFL type generic commercial fluff.
Yeah, cuz nothing says personality and charm like walking into an ugly arse erector set and squeezing into a 17" wide bleacher seat in a bowl that is so huge and wide that you feel like you're sitting across the river.

The exposed beam look is classic and distinctive. 18” is the standard for bleacher seat allocations. The old complaint of too small was valid in the 90s when it was moved from 18” to 12”. They were moved back to the 18” standard more than a decade ago. And always have option to pay a little more for better seats. Or, and this might be a better option, lose some weight fatass.
And yes, football stadiums are wide. I don’t know what to tell you, as a rule they go up and out.
But most folks go to a game for the experience more than the game. If your sole interest is just watching the game, stay home and let others go.

We’re going to that game…would be unreal.

lose some weight
This.
There are more people bitching about seating in today's age because obesity has exploded since 1990.

I don't care if capacity drops if every single seat is chair backed. Louisville did it years ago so SEC schools have no excuse.

Pretty much, his entire take is a laughable piece of shite. More than other stadiums, Neyland actually goes more vertical than it does out. If he were talking about Michigan’s stadium it might make sense.

We went to 5 SEC schools and we immediately go to each stadium. Drive by the Swamp and it is open. We go inside and there are a ton of students running the bleachers, some students were reading, and there were even 3 girls on field tumbling…not on the playing surface though.
Georgia has a little place you can walk in on the south endzone and get a view…the other three were just locked up.
Thought it was cool they let anyone in the Swamp.
What that's prolly telling you is that Ben Hill Griffin is about to get a new playing surface, while the rest of the stadiums are not and are being preserved for the Fall.
