Ed Orgeron simply paced the sidelines like a simpleton, occasionally uttering inane babble as inspirational speech, and reaped the benefits with a divorce and a physical relationship with a younger, more attractive Instagram model. No, he didn't. The cupboard was not empty. He stepped into a good situation with a program that Les Miles had maintained as a perennial Top 15 team. Many of the more senior players on that 2019 team were Les Miles recruits.

He stepped into a situation with more fullbacks than scholarship receivers.
He stepped into a situation with no quarterbacks or quarterback development to speak of.
Les had also allowed talent along both lines to erode late in his time at LSU.

O was the head recruiting coordinator at LSU in 2015 and 2016 before he became interim head coach.
There were only like 5 senior starters on the team and one was Burrow and one was the long snapper.
