I root for Auburn, grew up in northeast Alabama. My bachelors is from OU (2014) and am in a masters program at OU also.

I am Navy so that has moved me around a bit.

He would be correct. No AC. Rule was heat wasn't turned-on until the third night in the 50's. I don't recall cold being a big deal. For the heat, we used fans.

I still think it is ridiculous how some people say in order to cheer for a team you should have graduated from the school (mainly auburn fans have this argument towards alabama fans)… there are circumstances that can keep someone from going to their school of choice. if my kid were to receive a full ride to another school other than bama then obviously that makes the most since to send he/she to the school offering to pay for their education. shouldn't mean that you can't be a die hard fan of a school just because you didn't go there. silly argument in my opinion.

When my brother worked for Regions he went to some weekend banking school at LSU. So he is also a LSU alum

The vast majority of the fan base of every SEC school, including Vandy, are non alums

I agree with what you're saying, but it reeks of insecurity the way you say it. Alabama football is in part successful due to the gumpiest and trashiest fan base on the planet. They may live and die Alabama football but they are in no way equal to a bunch of people that attended and graduated from Auburn. What's sad is that Alabama fans care because it's an indictment on them. So what? You take the good with the bad. Would Auburn trade y'all's ten national titles for theirs if it meant they'd get all your fans? Probably.
