How many of you thought 15 practices were all that was allowed for

bowl preparations? I always thought there was a limit, but evidentally, there's not. Teams can practice as many times as they want after the end of the season and before the bowl game.

chizik has said that we can only practice 15 times

As it turns out, there is no such limit restricting bowl teams to how many practices they can hold before a postseason game. Still, it is commonly quoted as fact in news reports from all branches of the media.
A search of the NCAA rule book turns up no mention of a practice limit, and NCAA spokeswoman Stacey Osburn confirmed the absence of a rule.
“I’m not sure where the media has gotten the number 15 either,” she wrote, “because it’s not accurate.”
There is a rule limiting spring practice to 15 dates.

pretty sure it is 15.
You might be able to have unlimited conditioning sessions with the S&C coach, but as far as in pads practice there is a limit

I guess coaches thought it too and never asked. Most don't take a full 15 though. Bama only had 14 last yr before the game with Texas and will only have 13 this year.

A lot of people are worried about Oregon's bowl prep. They are putting in more practices but they also had a longer layoff time. We will likely follow very close to what UA used last year.

When reading a story on the Ducks it says they only have to take one day off a week. The restrictions are for spring practice.
Can't link it but can in a bit if need be.

Longer layoff? They both finished the same day.

I didn't know there was no limit on the number of bowl practices.
But isn't there a limit as to the number of practice hours per week in college football? Something like 20 hours per week?
