How is it? Good, bad or mediocre?

I feel like the local radio in Baton Rouge could use improvement especially covering LSU a majority of the time and other SEC teams. I never hear talk about other SEC teams. I also wish it was majority LSU and not saints. They seem to talk saints more than LSU.

Well, a lot of sec states don't have pro teams to talk about, so it's probably just their sec teams all the time. LSU and baton Rouge happen to be an hour away from new Orleans and the saints. LSU still gets the majority of talk year round though from what I hear.

Oh shite, wait, did I answer within the perameters of your question? Prob not, I'm disqualified. Lol, jk.

They never talk pelicans unless it’s playoffs then they still keep it minimal.

Like last year when the Pels were on a roll, it was almost nonexistent on the radio. The support they get here outside of NOLA is pathetic! IMO, Louisiana doesn’t deserve a pro NBA team

I agree bc I don't care for nba really. However, they do average 16,500 fans per game at home which isn't bad. If they start winning consistently, they will boost attendance for sure bc they do have fan support. I have been to a few games bc I got free tickets, but like I said, I'm just not a big nba fan. A lot of people are though.

They will always have the support from within NOLA. I’m just saying there’s definitely a lack of support outside of that market. The saints get support from all over I don’t see why the Pels couldn’t?

I listen to 680 in ATL on occasion, it's very Braves and UGA centric but I don't mind it, it isn't terrible. I also do a lot of podcasts.

You do have a point here.

Twitter, the Rant and Reddit are much more for me than sports Radio.

I listen to podcasts because Jox hardly talks about State. And when they do it usually is not that insighful.

I would say the media is very supportive of Alabama and Auburn here. Which honestly I do not care. I would say the shows like 3 man front have been an upgrade. From my time in Jackson, a lot of the media there needed major improvement. For one, they seemed scared to talk about Mississippi State or Ole Miss in a national light and tried to focus on Alabama and LSU as well to act balanced and "fair". And most of the time the shows would be dull. Head to Head for whatever reason they would talk super slow, OOB is kind of like Finebaum, and I never really saw a roundtable or 3 man front type like Birmingham has.

Honestly Jackson media should be way better than what it is. I am willing to move to Jackson to help contribute to this if it means getting better radio!

As far as State Podcasts I listen to somewhat consistently: More Cowbell, and now Thunder and Lightning

Good in my area we don't by choice get ESPN anymore. Fox sports is way better. They always talk about the Cowboys . Mavs are terrible so it's usually the Rockets or Spurs. They always talk the Rangers even through they aren't competitive which gets on my nerves. As for college they do fair in talking mainly Texas, A&M , tcu and or Baylor .

None of the sports radio in ATL talks about the Dawgs enough. Especially if the pro sports teams are doing well. Falcons take up far more of their time and with the Braves in the pennant chase, will be even less this year.

Sports radio in Texas is dominated by pro sports, so I get most of my college sports gossip and hot takes from message boards.

KSR is pretty good. Matt's voice gets annoying, and I don't care for Ryan Lemond at all, but they put out some pretty good content overall.

When in Atlanta I listen to 680 The Fan which is ok. Sometimes I switch to 92.9 The Game which is alright but is 95% Falcons and Hawks which just isn't my cup of tea.

I live in Athens though and 960 The Ref is great for UGA coverage. There is definitely alot of homerism so if you're not a UGA fan that may be annoying, but all in all it is pretty good.

I listen to a local show on my home from work sometimes. It is ok. It has a former Bama lineman whose Dad, brother, and one son went to Bama and another of his sons went to LSU. The Neighbors' have good football genes. It is heavy on Bama and Auburn like you would expect a local show here to be. I enjoy it, Pat Dye is a frequent guest. They have had Gene Stallings and even Les miles among other guest call ins.
