I think it's also funny that you brought up USF... who won their bowl game last year

We had a winning season in '09 with Chris Todd at QB

That included a losing SEC record.

Without Cam last year, I'd say 7-5.

oh did yall play them in 2010?

ETA: are we really going to argue that AU losing to USF was a good loss?

You're the one who brought up the USF game a few seasons ago, not me

Chris Todd had 2 left feet and AU went 8-5 with him while under a brand new coaching staff.

Prob same number of games that most starting QBs make a difference in.

Bama doesn win 2009 without McElroy, UF without Tebow or Leak, LSU without Flynn or Maulk.

>This. Its hilarious how other fans like to downgrade AU's year by this concept. Fact is we had Cam and Fairley, and went through the SEC undefeated!

Can't wait for this. Coach of the year my arse. Obviously homer here but Les won 11 games with practically the dead last offense in all of college football. He gets my vote.

That year Lester went undefeated was a great coaching job.

Oh wait...

I can't speak for the other games but Newton WAS the difference vs Georgia. We played them even in the first half but simply could not stop Newton's rushing yardage in the 2nd half. Our defense was pretty much gassed by the end of the game. Newton threw for 2 TD's with 1 INT and rushed for 151 yards and 2 TD's. In other words he was responsible for scoring over half of Auburn's points in the game. The final score was 49 to 31.

We should just give up the title now. Texas don't win shite without Young, Lakers suck without Kobe, Pats win nada without Brady.

To the OP, he had a good idea in this thread, sucks it got hijacked. We would have probably lost 3-4 of those close games without Newton. However, we had him, so the argument is pretty much invalid.
