Richt got fired for winning 10 games a year.

Richt got fired because he had a winning percentage of about 35% against ranked teams the last half of his tenture. Smart is 9-4 against the top 10. Smart also recruits and manages the roster light years better than Richt ever did. Smart also has a pulse.

Are y’all dropping another 900K to watch San Jose State whoop your arse again? Or are you headed to sunny California for the heated rematch?

@ULM?
@Toledo?
@North Texas?

Probably forgot a few

Considering he's done better than Richt did when he started and Richt was there for 15 years, I'm sure he'll be there for awhile (assuming he doesn't bolt).

Winning a conference title with the previous coaches players

When the previous coach couldn’t lol. And half the players were kirby’s at that point. All you’re doing is showing how Smart is better than Richt.

Honest assessment since I am not emotionally wound up in UGA football as I was in my 20s and 30s.

Kirby will be at UGA until he doesn’t want to be there anymore. He will be able to win the East AT LEAST 5 more times but will only win 2-3 more SEC titles over 12-15 more years at UGA. He will never win a National Championship

He doesn’t have the “in game” superiority to get it done. He is as good at snatching defeat from the jaws of victory with late game decision making as any other coach not named Gus Malzhan and he appears to be to arrogant and stubborn to change.

He will recruit well and keep UGA in the discussion for being top 10 for the rest of his time in Athens but will never have the magical season where it all comes together because he sabotages himself with stubbornness and arrogance.

I live in Georgia and what I see is if they beat Ga Tech and Florida and or Auburn then their season is a success. They don’t care past that.

Then why did richt get fired? He had a winning record against UT, Auburn, and GT.

Depends on how long UGA wants Kirby. I don’t think they’ll keep him as long as Richt.

He’s recruiting well, but he’s also shedding 5* players quickly.

He’s going to lose 5-7 five star underclassmen this year, which is tough to keep re-stocking.

Not when you sign 5-7 5-star players every year. It’s the maths

Willing to bet it doesn't take most coaches a team of 5 stars to beat muschamp...then again Kirby didn't do that at home last year anyway
