D2 transfer, back up QB, comes in week 3 to lead Ole Miss to its first playoff in the toughest conference.
Especially considering how miserable this group of Heisman finalists are.

Trinidad got dinged for not being the only underdog story, Pavia was a 0* and Mendoza was a 2*
Not to mention the media narrative on his team all year was where Kiffin was going to coach next

He was a serviceable qb, not the best player. The group of players this year aren’t the best ever, but still better than chambliss

Heisman caliber players keep coaches before the playoffs

Same reason Lacy didn't get any hype - the head coach was too busy promoting himself and not any of his players.

Man you guys think everything is the best ever. Head coach with 0-0 record, the best ever. Good but not the best player, the best ever. The program who is mediocre at most historically, the best ever.
Reality check coming soon.

lol cool they padded stats. Chambliss had like 50 more yards per game than Fernando against much better comp
Chambliss averaged 300 passing yards per game. Fernando under 220. LMAO. Chambliss also had like 4x his rushing yards. All playing 2 games less.

The point more so is that no QB is getting a Heisman with 24 TDs in this era

Needs brighter lights. No shame in his year just needs a bigger program as a launching pad.
We will get him there next year.
Y’all can come up and celebrate with him!

It's a dumb award and I don't know why anyone really puts importance on it, or any of the others like it.
The majority of those awards have been created in recent years just to create a TV show for ESPN.
