If Tennessee continues to struggle for another 10+ years would you then consider ending this so called great rivalry?. I get if your older you recall this was a big game. Nobody in the millennial age demographic considers this a good game.
Lsu and Alabama do have a long history and have always played in early November since the 60s and it has always carried significance. I hope this rivalry continues if they change the division structure of the conference.

Alabama doesn’t have any rivals. 18-Time National Champs don’t have rivals.

Because football existed before 2008?

And for all the laughing at Tennessee for losing to us a lot, the only program that has had that much more success than them is Auburn.

I mean you want Alabama to stop calling Tennessee a rival for beating them 14 straight years. Since 2008......

Alabama since 2008
- Tennessee (13-0)
- Mississippi St (13-0)
- Arkansas (13-0)
- Georgia (6-0)
- Texas A&M (8-1)
- Florida (7-1)
- Ole Miss (11-2)
- LSU (11-3)
- Auburn (9-4)

If we're dropping rivalries because we are beating teams most every year then why would LSU all of a sudden be a rival? It's not like our series has been close the last decade plus.

Frankly, the LSU and Alabama football series has not been particularly competitive for most of its history. It has been a big game for the last 14 years but it has not been close enough W/L-wise to really deepen the animosity on both sides.

The closest it got to really becoming universally spiteful was after the 2011 6-9 loss by Alabama then Alabama won the 2012 BCSCG 21-0 and ran off Ws for nearly the rest of the decade.

Yep - and we lost to LSU, Auburn and Tennessee equally in those days

And I can tell you that losing to Auburn and Tennessee mattered a whole helluva lot more than losing to LSU

LSU is worthy foe who is a pain in the arse to play, probably the second best program this century. It's just not hate from Bama's perspective towards LSU despite what this board thinks.

Now it's hate there with Tennessee, most Alabama fans wish nothing bad humanely things to that university's football program. This is a multi generational rivalry it was a measure of respect there between the programs before Fat Phil.

Tennessee broke the gentleman's code between SEC schools, if the NCAA wants to chat don't go implicating other programs especially when you're dirty AF yourself.

Tennessee's football woes wasn't caused by Bama, as much as we want to take credit. That's divine punishment because even God hates snitches.

The only people who don't care about Tennessee as a rival (for the most part) are younger (probably under 30) first generation Alabama fans.

Anyone who is.......
(a) Over 30 and/or
(b) has parents, grandparents, etc that raised them as Alabama fans and were Alabama fans

......dislikes Tennessee. It was a huge rivalry their whole lives, it was a huge rivalry in their parents lives and then for anyone who isn't under 30 the whole Fulmer thing and the accompanying losing streak to them is stacked on top of all that. We don't like Tennessee. We could beat then 57 more times in a row and we still wouldn't like Tennessee and would enjoy doing it.

The majority of us see a game vs LSU as an old school SEC game against a really good team, much like it has been most of the years between the 2 going back to the 60s. The majority of us don't hate you - it's a weird phenomenon of this message board.
