In this case, it is. Thanks for your input.

So y'all are so desperate you would take the coach that Joe would actually hire? Someone like Rich Rod? Because LSU's last two coaches weren't splashes.

Is he really that cheap? One of the biggest gripes was that he is too quick to give out extensions and raises. I think the Chavis situation was a strategic play to prepare for the very scenario we are in today. If Les goes - be in a position to blow the whole thing up.

Which coaches are you referring to? Steele and Cameron? The two guys who LES MILES brought on?

Johnny Johns was a fantastic hire.

Chavis simply wasn't worth a raise. His defenses didn't deliver on the field in 2013 or 2014 and then he turned around and wanted more money. And we were like sorry, pal, give us 2011 again and we'll pay you. Until then, nope.

Les was a so-so coach at Oklahoma St. before you hired him. Saban was a so-so coach at MSU before you hired him.

But Steele was worth a million? Lordy.

Cheaper isn't usually better.

He was worth a raise if the alternative was hiring Steele

Michigan State was winless the year before they hired Saban. 0-11. In Saban's final year there, Michigan State went 9-2, beat Florida in a bowl game, and finished in the Top 10.

Take some time to process those facts, bro. You're wrong.

Dude we lost 3 games in the back end of 2014. That's the same result Steele has delivered.

Ok. That is a record still far below someone like y'all expect to hire (Jimbo, Patterson, etc.) but I will leave that one alone.

What about Les?

And are y'all happy with that?

Most ADs let coaches walk so they can upgrade. Only cheap Joe downgrades.

There's a different situation now.

What about Les?

Les benefitted tremendously from Saban's legacy. It wasn't just about Saban's players, as Bama fans claimed back in 2007. It was about investment in the program, recruiting, commitment to academic success, and establishing a culture of winning. Les simply kept the momentum going, but Saban was the man with the vision.

Here's the thing: We have continued to invest in our program in the Saban mode. Therefore, we can attract a quality coach. We're not going to hire a Curley Hallman, dude.

So you're saying that we saved money and got the same result and we should regret it?
