He's so dominant Bama wanted to keep him on the field. Dang, what a stud.

Also, every time 99 is in the game, it's a pass to the flats and used tempo. Scheming around 99 AND keeping him on the field and wearing him down on tempo.

Bingo bongo. When Davis was in the game, the Dawgs were shutting down the run game. Blown coverages costed us the game. Knew it would hurt us eventually. I've seen in a couple times now where our DBs(Cine in the Bama game) was yelling at Kirby because someone blew a coverage. Ringo went off on Brini in the Florida game for giving up big yards twice because he missed an assignment.

Alabama averaged 4.5 YPC
The also picked up 8 1st downs by rushing

Because of Bryce Young scrambling. That's not what we're talking about.

Leading Rusher Robinson - 16 attempts 55 yards

But, whatever. I don't really care to white knight for UGA. I am just saying that a dominant player like that requires specific adjustments. And because he requires specific adjustments to play calling/scheme to account for his dominant arse, by arguably the best team in the NCAA, he is, and should be, an All-American.

Now, frick UGA!!!

Defend your own player!!! I'm out of this discussion.

The pass to the flats was because UGA was giving us 10 yard cushions

He would be 3rd best d lineman at Thompson high school.

He might be a waffle house all American or golden corral.

Early 2nd quarter he was breathing like a 90 year old 2 pack a day smoker. Plus a 3rd team center from Alabama roughed him him like pimp does a ho.

I seldom agree with you, but Davis is the most overrated player I can remember in quite some time.

He was playing against the 3rd team C. There is a video clip of him quitting on a play vs the LG.

In that game he was a long way from a AA

But my guess is - His main job is to soak up blocks, which allows the linebackers to make plays.

This.

He requires a double team on every play, which cuts out 60% of an offense's playbook.

Until an offense decides chooses not double team him, run a hurry-up no huddle offense getting the ball out quick with RPO's. Then he's standing around on the field or he's getting a breather on the sidelines.

Explain that to your boy LittleJerrySeinfeld.

Cuz he's the best nose tackle in all of college football. He commands a double team against every team we've played including alabama. He is also a very good person great student and an ambassador for uga. Gfy

Fully agree he is powerful and soak up blockers for 1-2 plays allowing others to make plays around him. There are plenty of defensive down lineman that are more impactful themselves and for a full series not just 1-2 plays at a time.....He already needs oxygen for next week's game lol

Terrance (Mount) Cody only had 12 solo tackles, 16 assists, 6 tackles for lost and NO sacks, yet he was THE force in Alabama's '09 defense. The purpose of a nose guard is to draw double teams and shut down the A gaps.

Which we haven’t been doing all season. Kirby was so worried about Jameson and the rest of the WR core he completely changed his defensive game plan. Started someone at Star for the first time ever.

Can’t properly describe to you how bizarre most of us thought it was.

Yea, I think Kirby out coached himself. A lot of coaches overthink it against Bama. What beats Bama is running the ball and blitzing.

I'm too busy watching the ball during games to focus on lineman honestly. They normally only stand out when they are fricking up.

Do you expect him to be a sack machine or something? Seems mostly like you don't understand the position to me.
