They'll be good. Probably not as good as their numbers will show. Their offense is going to control the clock and that defense won't be on the field very long throughout the game. The exact opposite will be said about auburns defense, which will be better than their numbers show. Bama will have the top D in the SEC as far as numbers go, but top 3-4 in performance

Lost 9 starters, returns 8 contributors from last year's team though. Clearly secondary is a huge concern, but our front 7 will be better than last year. Will still be a top 15 defense.

Absolutely the truth.

Why don't you wandering Tigers head on back to your own board where you can continue in your collect Les-bashing and wringing of hands...

The real question is who will have a better D than Bama?

That's what I am saying. Florida is the only one with potential to be better (but even they lost their defensive coordinator from last year).

Dareus and Hightower were not starters last year.

everyone keeps worrying about starters. It isnt about starting but meaningful game time reps and everywhere EXCEPT secondary we had that.

Probably a little better than they were last year but not a lot.

Hightower started every game until he was injured against Arky

Was he one of the 11 starters last year? I repeat...two guys can't start at the same position.

Therefore, you lost 10 starters. Do they teach math in Alabama?

Then quit calling them starters.

Your only returning starter is in the secondary.

If there's a season-ending injury, then yes.

If you're wanting to count Hightower as a non-starter, then have at it. Anything to help a brotha out, ya know?

we will all see.

i personally think Saban could go to any school, with any defense and make it a shite ton better.

i think with the talent we have there we will be yet again a completely solid team with a chance to win it all again. and that's all you can REALLY ask for. a solid, consistent, hard hittin team with an obvious chance to win it all.

we have that. roll frickin tide.

It's ridiculous to watch these bammers doing mental gymnastics to try and convince themselves on how defense will be the same or better. They won't be bad, true, but it is unrealistic to think they will be as good as last year. When you lose starters and leaders a unit will NOT produce the same results. They will have a good offense, but late in the games Saban will NOT be able to rely solely on his D to win games and hold leads. Their O is going to have to win some. That being said they will still be a good team but will not go undefeated and IMO not get in to the title game this season.
