They just didn't compete every game. There were flaws on the roster and the Gonzaga win was honestly them playing over their heads, but as a group there just wasn't much competitive spirit or toughness. And it never really got any better.

Just frustrating.

I fricking hate Bama but will admit Quaker Oates is doing ok. I love their style, they will light your arse up from 3 on a good day. Exciting ball.

I hate how it ended and I’m sick. We sucked today (not to mention losing our floor leader 3 minutes in). I still think Oats is our man. I remember sitting around waiting on an NIT bid for YEARS and happy to get it.

I’m ready to move on. His teams have no bball IQ and lack the fundamentals. Every possession is just frantic. Nothing ever looks like it comes easy to them. Herb Jones covered up a multitude of sins last year. I look at the roster and think, what’s going to get better next year?

What? You mean a coach that has taken us to back to back tourneys since the gottfried era? If they shoot their freethrow average last year they’re in the elite 8.

The team lost 5 players from last years team, 4 of whom were starters. That’s quite a bit of roster turnover. It didn’t help that everyone mis evaluated JD and our high profile transfer tore his ACL. I’m not worried about oats because it’s obvious that some of the players on this team just didn’t have that drive to carry the team.

It seems so. They seem rather reasonable especially considering they just had a disappointing loss. I'm sure LSU fans will behave in the same respectful and thoughtful manner.

I mean 3 years in we have an SEC regular season title, SEC tournament title, Sweet 16, a 2 seed and a 6 seed. He's signed 5 top 50 recruits, plus 2 5 star transfers. He's developed 2 lottery picks plus NBA starter Herb Jones, none of whom were 5 star recruits. To do that at Alabama, I am extremely happy. I see us as a perennial tournament team from here out and that is about all you can ask if you aren't a blue blood.

Holding judgement on Oats until seeing how we do next year. Too early to tell if this season was the aberration or last year was.

Very pleased about the direction he has taken the program and the excitement he has brought back to the fan base.

Very leery about how this year’s team failed to improve fundamentally from beginning of season until todays loss.

So exactly who would Bama hire after firing a guy who got them a 2 seed and 6 seed? Not to mention a top 5 class that would fall apart. Good grief man.

I see what you did there! Clever boy! Tell me how his team has improved from year over year? Save the sunshine pumping for Tidalspurges’ board. This is for grown ups. This team was not well coached. They are afraid to make mistakes and therefore make many. It’s like giving a two year old a drink and telling them, “don’t spill it”, then they promptly spill it.
