I like to refer Texas as Quantity over Quality. Texas is pretty average at NFL players per capita. Usually right at the national average. They just have 32 million people, so they think they are good, but they significantly trail the South in NFL players per capita.

If you mean proved they were better than the bottom 7 teams in the SEC? Then yeah. Their 7 SEC wins came against the very bottom. Their 7 SEC wins apparantly went 16-40 in the SEC. So yes, they proved they could be a midgrade SEC team. But they lost to the only top half team they played, 2x.
