I tend to agree.

I have trouble getting the skin right on birds. I've tried drying it, oiling it, saucing it, cooking longer, but alas, the perfect crispy skin evades me.

Instead of a beer can i stuff a pealed pineapple up its arse. It's different and pretty good.

I struggled with that too for a long time. What I've figured is low and slow but at the very end direct heat until it crisps up.

This is the way to do it if you want perfect crispy skin.

You know why folks don't ask this question about dogs?

Vincent: How about a dog? Dog eats its own feces.
Jules: I don't eat dog either.
Vincent: Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal?
Jules: I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy, but they're definitely dirty.

I'll have to try that. Any issue drying it out?

Not really as long as your smoking it. Throw it on the grill and it really elevates smoked wings.
