Smith started out mediocre but lately he's been awful in coverage and I find myself questioning his effort.

Saivion Smith is a thug that doesn't want to work for anything. He felt that he should transfer after not getting a starting job offered to him as a true freshman at the hardest team to gain a starting corner spot in the country.

Heck no. I’m on edge every game, believe it or not. I don’t expect every game to be easy, but I do get immense enjoyment from those wins where everybody on the team gets to play. It’s satisfying.
But yeah, I have a healthy level of paranoia about both the Iron Bowl and the SEC championship game.

Does this feel different than normal or is it pretty much like every other year?

Well the team is better and the competition is not great this season. All the teams left on the schedule could pull upsets, but theyd be pretty major ones.

Are you concerned about Clemson or about the team buying the hype too much?

Not worried about this team buying its hype. Georgia has a better chance against Bama than Clemson imo. Hard to beat Alabama with a true freshman QB.

Different.

This team has been dominant because of Tua. He and the depth of talent at WR are the only real upgrades over any player or position group in past years.

When Tua comes out of the game, everything is different.

The OL bas not transitioned well between run and pass blocking to make the offense as potent as it could be. Now, with Cotten in, there seems to be a liability in pass protection, which has been strong.

The depth of RBs is tremendous. The blessing is it keeps legs fresh. The problem is the limited carries dont let guys get into a groove. Plus, the aforementioned issue with consistent effective run blocking continues.

LBs are the least productive I can remember, especially in the middle. They haven't played poorly. It just looks and feels different than years past with a truly alpha Mike in the game calling plays and always being around the ball... Wilson's LSU game was the exception. It looked like the light had turned on.

DL is good. Q Williams is dominant, but it is no better than some of the past units.

Secondary has exceeded expectations given injuries and personnel losses from last year, but it is not a lockdown group as a whole. Although, the talent and ballskills of some are apparent.

Pk and punting are quite possibly the worst in school history. 2 x PKs have missed 8 PATs... has to be a record. 2 different punters have both managed a meager ~35 yds a punt.

Waddle on PRs and Jacob's on KOs have been very good. Waddle just needs the opportunity to get the ball. He is electric.

New Coords have been good not great. Tosh doesn't have the D playing with same sense of urgency as years past with equal levels of talent, granted level of competition and 20+ pt leads tend to affect the psyche of a D not ASKED to win a game. Locks, in particular in the MSU game, has not shown a great ability to adjust the playcalling when the defense isn't allowing Tua the time or space to pick the D apart as usual. He has the talent 3-4 deep at every skill position to create any variety of potent adjustments, but just hasn't shown it. Maybe Kiffin spoiled us, as the offensive game plan each week was built around our team strength and weaknesses to keep our players in the best positions and designed specifically to exploit the other team.

All that said, yes. It is another dominant Bama team. But, take away Tua and it is much more of a struggle this year. Still CFP capable, but not a weekly 20+ pt victory.

Personally, I think 2016 was the best Bama team as a whole. They just fell a bit short in the end.

The national media is already hinting that if Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC title game that they will still select Alabama over Georgia and that is exactly what they will do.

I listen to sports radio all day in my office. FOX, ESPN, Local, and I've literally heard zero people mention this.

We only had like 3 possessions in the first half and we fumbled the ball on one of them. No need to worry.

Four. Three of which ended in a FG, a punt, and a fumble. Against the Citadel.

The citadel.

Feels different than last year. We could see Jalen's shortcomings coming. Almost bit us with State, did bite us with Auburn. Really bit us the year before in the championship game against Clemson.

I was't surprised about any of those. Nor was I surprised that Georgia dominated the first half.

This year we still have weaknesses but the QB is not one of them. If he stays upright and the Defense has an average or better day, we're going to be tough to beat.
