Does this feel different than normal or is it pretty much like every other year?

Obviously the national media feels this is your best team by far. Do you feel you are unbreakable? Does anything worry you besides a Tua injury? Are you concerned about Clemson or about the team buying the hype too much?

Team has been great so far but it has weaknesses that can be exploited. So I am cautiously optimistic going forward. I always think of negative scenarios that may occur each week because I naturally think like that. Feel very confident about beating auburn, but not sure how the 1st half will go. Also confident about the sec championship but I've watched UGA play much, much better in recent weeks. So I see the game possibly playing out a ton of different ways in my head

Heck no. I’m on edge every game, believe it or not. I don’t expect every game to be easy, but I do get immense enjoyment from those wins where everybody on the team gets to play. It’s satisfying.
But yeah, I have a healthy level of paranoia about both the Iron Bowl and the SEC championship game.

I am more confident this year than any before. Though anybody can lose, this is by far the most complete Bama team I can remember. The defense made a lot of mistakes early but Carville and LSU fans pissed off Saban and he took back control of the defense from Lupio and they have been more disciplined and better ever since. Not a moment too soon because Tua is playing hurt,Hurts was flat out injured, and we needed the defense to step up. Now both seem to getting back to their old form. I expect offense and defense to be at full strength in Atlanta and I do expect to beat UGA by 2 or 3 td's. Clemson is the team that worries me the most. Like us, they have a top 10 offense and a top 10 defense. Our oline will likely have trouble blocking their dline, like they did vs MSU. And if any game comes down to field goal, our kickers will choke, I just know it. Oh and our punter is averaging a bit too low, even though we have not needed him, we will vs Clemson's/UGA's/Michigan's defenses.

I've never bought what the national media was selling. We have a good team but we're still vulnerable in a lot of areas...the injuries at CB and LG could be a problem. Smith and Cotton are two of my biggest concerns. Smith started out mediocre but lately he's been awful in coverage and I find myself questioning his effort. Lester Cotton LOL, I'm just going to ease on past him. And our kicking game is atrocious, we've missed 8 pats.

I'm never really concerned about the intangibles, Saban keeps these guys hungry every single year and they usually eat. I don't know how he does it but it's his greatest attribute.

I think Georgia is going to hit Alabama in the mouth in a couple of weeks. I am sure they are sick of hearing how great and unbeatable Alabama is and how they are just playing for seeding at this point. No one is respecting Georgia even they have equal talent. We will see how Alabama responds.

I guess I don’t trust this team totally... We are about one injury away from a loss, and I’m not just talking Tua ... though the blatant helmet-at-knees thrown by L8U and State were concerning. On D we are short of depth everywhere, one LB or DB goes and we will be in trouble.

Auburn always is like dealing with a psycho and Georgia is looking better on the OL. I’m usually pesimestic and this year more than the last three. We will see.

The first half against The Citadel scares the crap out of me going forward, and for all the talk about Alabama being tight against LSU, it seems under Saban they're way tighter against Malzhan coached teams.

If any coach will take advantage of what The Citadel did, it will be Gus. If we can get past Auburn, we'll be OK.

If I am Alabama I am feeling pretty good about things. All they need to do is beat a mediocre Auburn team and they are a lock for the playoffs.
The national media is already hinting that if Georgia beats Alabama in the SEC title game that they will still select Alabama over Georgia and that is exactly what they will do.

Of course it is rather unlikely Georgia does beat them so that scenerio is probably going to be moot.

Years ago Coach Neyland called UT Chattanooga and asked if they wanted to play UT on a yearly basis. UTC really wanted to play them but Coach Neyland put one stipulation on it, UTC had to run the Notre Dame Box. The UTC game was the week before the Alabama game, and Bama ran the Notre Dame Box.

Alabama has seen the triple option now, and if Auburn tries to run it they will get stuffed.

Alabama should win by 30+ points.

I hope Malzahn tries to take advantage of what the Citadel did. Auburn’s running game is atrocious. My concern is that Stidham comes out on fire and their receivers play the game of their lives - you know, the same thing that has almost always been the reason we’ve lost games over the past ten years. That’s their only chance to keep it competitive.

Just have to get through the SECCG. BAMA is the best at using that time between SECCG and playoffs at getting better.

It's not the option I'm worried about, you don't just install the option in a week anyway. It's scoring 10 points against The Citadel.

Would not trade Bama's chances for any other team's - however, there is an obvious area of weakness - special teams generally and the kicking game specifically. Punting is adequate at best. Flipping the field with a booming punt isn't a possibility and that might put additional pressure on the D against a good O. Field goals and XPs? Ugh - a close game will expose that in a hurry.

UGA and Clemson match up well against Bama and both have the emotional edge of revenge this year.

Bama can win many ways - high-scoring shoot-out, in the trenches smash-mouth, and anything in between - but a close game where field position and kicking determine the winner....toss-up at best. At that point, Bama will need the edge of knowing how to focus on the next play and the will to win.

#13 is the key to this Bama team. If he plays well then they have as good a shot as anybody.

I think Bama will win every game until the NC easily.

And then I think Clemson will beat them because they will have the mental edge. But it will be an Instant Classic type game, with probably Renfrow catching the game winner lol
