Understand your frustration there. The 3/6 format is probably the best scenario but it is going to invariably screw a few teams over with the permanent opponents. The good news is you will play every other team twice every four years. And I think everyone can live with that.

I agree with you that my passion is much more subdued these days. I will always have maroon blood but I don’t sweat it much if we lose. I do appreciate the wins and obviously winning the baseball NC two years ago has taken a lot of pressure off the State athletic program. I enjoyed that immensely and still am even if our baseball team has fallen off the cliff. We will eventually be back.

I definitely have mixed feelings about OK/TX coming onboard. Not really crazy about but it is happening. We will see how it evolves in the coming years.

Thank you for your informative posts on baseball. Guys like you make this site enjoyable. I can do without some of the other shenanigans though I typically ignore them anyway.

8 conference games and 1 crossover rival, or 9 conference games and 3 crossover rivals.

I'll take Plan C.

There are several teams equal to Georgia and Alabama in terms of ceiling.

There are only 2. LSU & Florida.

There are only 6 teams that have won SEC Championships over the past 60 years. Of those 6, 4 have advantages over the other 2.

In terms of actual performance and history, Alabama is in a league all by themselves. Anyone with Alabama as a permanent opponent is at a disadvantage over everyone else.

If you add one of the other 4 teams with clear advantages over everyone else (Georgia) then that right there makes your permanent opponents the most difficult.

Auburn, clearly, has one of the most difficult permanent opponents regardless that Vandy is included.

Same with Florida.

If Florida hires the right coach and starts spending money like UGA, they will be back. They owned the conference in the nineties and won two titles in the first decade of the 21st century.

I didn't put UT on the same tier.

Oklahoma has done fairly well in matchups with the best teams in the SEC for the most part in the last decade. They've been competitive most of the time even if they lost.

Texas and OU both have the money and name brand to compete at the highest level. As Bama and UGA have shown, it takes the right coach, a strong recruiting base, and commitment from the AD. All of the schools in my top tier can do that.

I’d rather not have permanent cross division rivals if this is how it’s going to be

Thanks....thinking we will be in Seoul for 4 days before getting on a cruise ship for 23 days. I will probably shoot you some questions about Seoul if you are okay with that. Or, can exchange information through email

LSU@hotmail.com

Thanks again
