How different will the Iron Bowl be?

Alabama and Auburn recently have had cupcakes the week before the IB. Basically an off week. (New Mexico State was supposed to suck but didn't hold up their end of the bargain.)
2024 Bama gets Oklahoma, AU gets aTm. the week before. No downtime. They may both go in a bit banged up and weary.

Looks like AU still has a cupcake game before the Iron Bowl...

Not much different. Auburn got skull-drug by a directional school and IB was still a good game.

There are two gameday coaching philosophies when it comes to playing to your competition. Type A is Nick Saban. All of his assistants will tell you that he approaches every regular season game the same, whether Alabama is playing Auburn or playing Chattanooga. This approach has won a lot of games at Alabama, and has led to Alabama losing exactly one game to an unranked team in 16 seasons. But one could argue that this approach has been a liability in the Iron Bowl, which is a game that is played at the end of the regular season, typically the week before Alabama plays in the SECCG, and always matches a top ranked Alabama against a team with a massive little brother complex.
Type B is whoever is coaching Auburn. It is pretty clear that Auburn had zero emotional investment in the New Mexico State game, and that starts and ends with the head coach. But what happened the Monday of Iron Bowl week? Gus Malzahn called Hugh Freeze and said, "Get ready, fella. Your Egg Bowl experience means nothing compared to the IB."
It is pretty obvious that Auburn cannot be disinterested in their penultimate regular season game next year. Win or lose, I look forward to seeing how that impacts the Iron Bowl.

The SEC has hurt itself on hetting teams into the playoffs.

Logically one has to think that Hugh learned his lesson about putting all of his proverbial eggs in one basket (in terms of game prep).
That combined with historical trends when this game is not in Auburn, and I would expect a more favorable outcome:
Iron Bowl in Tuscaloosa:
2022 Alabama 49–27
2020 Alabama 42–13
2018 Alabama 52–21
2016 Alabama 30–12
2014 Alabama 55–44
2012 Alabama 49–0 (!)
2010 Auburn 28–27 (The fricking "Camback")
Although this excludes them getting some super-elite players out of the portal, for example.

Auburn will complain, SEC will change it all up in 2025 after ESPN sprinkles more nickles and dimes on the ground.

2014 was a decent game. Not sure what you are using for scores. Back and forth until the 4th quarter.

Nick Marshall set the SR for passing yards and total offense in a game.
The defense was just arse

Doesn’t matter. Auburn won’t practice for A&M but will practice for Alabama for two weeks. A&M will kill Auburn and then Auburn will play Alabama tough. Auburn doesn’t care about anything else.

You're exactly right — I copied and pasted the rows, and forgot to edit that score. Thank you, sir.
And it was a great game. A total of 99 points? Come on!

I mean, IDK about the whole defense.
Amari Cooper had 13 catches for 224 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Auburn always had to play Georgia the week before Alabama until 2010, when the league office finally got tired of hearing them bitch about it.

And you lost to an interim coach last year. Congrats
