They just made excuses like they do now when they lose.

Dubose being stupid, fran jumping ship, then probation, then Shula were their favorites.

Same way as LSU fans pre-Saban, except Bama fans had a lot more winning and tradition to soften the blows..

Not really. AU was the NC in 1983. Also a perfect season in 1993 just like bama in 1992.

Glimmers of hope. Dumbose, Fran, and Shula all had a 10 win season. They were like rain when you're adrift in a lifeboat.

Probably the same way we've survived pre-Calipari years. Knowing that it all goes in cycles but that the program is good enough to get back to the top even after some down years.

No one showed up to watch the #3 team in the country?

Here's the recorded attendance
quote:

Stadium: Bryant-Denny Stadium Attendance: 83818
Kickoff time: 6:47 PM End of Game: 9:43 PM Total elapsed time: 2:56
That was full capacity at the time.

LINK

And here's video proof that you're lying

I don't understand the question. Didn't it go Bear, Stallings, Saban?

How is something that actually affected the team an excuse?

They were well conditioned for the pre saban years. Given that the NC is all that matters (conference titles, post season and such aren't even goals anymore) they have spend 94% of their history in failure.
