The city pretty much shut down for the post-Saban years, it was actually kind of sad. Its funny how NOW they act like those years NEVER happened like they weren't bad for a decade...

Not gonna read this whole thread, but in the minds of most bama fans the pre Saban years never happened. None of the AU's 6 wins in a row or any of the other wins teams had vs Bama count, because those teams never faced a bama team at full strength.

Strong

Needs a couple of references to "bahr worship" and a giggly reference to "honk if you sacked Brodie" though

I have three questions numbnuts:

1. Who was the most deserving team in 1983 that accomplished the most and that all retroactice computer rankings agree on?

2. Who won the majority of the polls that year?

3. Who played the 3rd toughest schedule in the HISTORY of NCAAF and finished tied with the best record in 1983?

The fact that you do not believe AU was the true NC in 1983 just shows your football ignorance.

Then Jay Jacobs and the rest of the folks running your athletic department must be really ignorant, they don't believe Auburn won the NC in 1983.

Auburn AD's "football ignorance"

Recognize you say?

the NCAA does not sponsor a playoff-style tournament or recognize official national champions for the Football Bowl Subdivision.

Citing Wikipedia as a reputable source as an argument against the NCAA's own website! Did you even graduate from high school???

I watched the Braves and NFL football. Highlight of the dark days for me was Jamie Christenson's sideways game winning field goal that cleared by 1 cm to beat Texas Tech in the cotton bowl.

don't worry, wait a few years and bama's records will be changed to indeed reflect a 5-peat.

They thought of thier ancient championships, from decades ago. Forget the past gumps, live it the present. Yes you do have 2 crystal balls,..BUT...sorry... LSU was the first team to have 2 crystal balls and will be the first to have 3. DEAL WITH IT
