It could happen. I hope it doesn't. It would be too much to take.

Could, though the odds are fairly slim.

Texas is probably favored in the first two games (Clemson and ASU), but assuming they survive both have to get through most likely Oregon. If Tennessee gets past Oregon, I don't know if Texas would be favored against them either.

Keep in mind, Clemson will be the best team Texas has played all year not named "Georgia" - then ASU would be, then the Oregon/Tennessee/Ohio State winner would be.

I think it would be kind of funny. It seems most of the BCS/playoffs were set up to avoid multiple teams ranked #1 at the end of the season.

If Georgia loses a close one to Tx, (especially if their back-up qb gets injured in the finals) there will be some AP voters to vote Georgia #1. It may not be enough, but that's the only way we can have split titles again.

Georgia ain't getting that far with a backup QB.

In all likelihood Gunner Stockton would have been the starter next season. He will have about as much meaningful prep time between now and the Sugar Bowl as he would have had in spring and fall camp. He has been in the system a long time and it is a system that Stetson Bennett managed to win 2 natty's in....in other words it ain't a system reliant upon elite QB play. UGAs path to the natty is set up pretty well for a team that does not rely on stellar QB play to make a run with one who is, by all accounts, pretty damned promising.

Impossible to predict this uga team, other than they are tough and perseverance is the key trait they display.

UGA is now in "one game season" mode. Physical and mental toughness are hard to beat when every game, every week, is a win or go home game. Anyone who doubts Kirby Smart's ability to relay the importance of "this" moment to his players has not watched much CFB recently with a critical eye. This is what makes Smart one of the best coaches ever. UGA will not quit and they will not fail to recognize the importance of every snap and every second. They could very well get blown out by Notre Dame or Indiana....but anyone who plays UGA better expect a physically and mentally draining experience.....take a play or 2 off against UGA in the post season and you are pushing your luck no matter how talented you are. Ohio State, Michigan, Oklahoma, TCU, and even Alabama, once, fricked around and found out. There is no one in the field better prepared for what's coming. Plenty of talent all around, lots of good coaching, but the physical and mental aspect of what's about to happen is not something you can learn in a couple of weeks....

If Georgia is playing with a backup, they won't make the final game.

That UT chip would come with a YUGE asterisk if beating a team 1/3 times in a season gives them the championship over the other team.

I mean, I’m biased, but it’d be really problematic for the CFP format.
Nah, it's like the NFL now. Still, Texas won't be winning a third matchup with a statue at QB.

If everything plays out there will be some epic showdowns between Philo and Stockton in the next few years

I pulled for Georgia in the SECCG, because I didn't want Texas to win the SEC in their first year, because frick Texas.

But now I hope Texas beats Georgia in the re-re-match because frick Georgia.
