So my question is this, is it fair or right that this crime and manhunt for the killer being called the "Auburn" whatever in every report?

Auburn is always mentioned because it happened in Auburn. What else are they supposed to call it (or him)?

basically.

I have heard that the area near the BWR is pretty nice.

The area along the actual river is nice but nothing really special although it's the nicest thing between the river and the interstate. I'm talking more about the dozens of neighborhoods along and just off Rice Mine Road that runs all the way out out to Lake Tuscalooosa. I'd say about a quarter of the roughly 120,000 residents of Tuscaloosa/Northport lives in that general area. The rest of the city is average AT BEST but that section of the of the area is really nice.
To put it in perpective it would be kinda like a visitor judging the city of Auburn by a drive in and out on Wire Road.

This might explain why I never saw it in Auburn, but almost every party I went to in T-town

Yep. There was one girl that I knew down there and she had a silver cross necklace and it had a little compartment for her cocaine. She was the biggest goody two shoes ever. Still is, but now she's back in Birmingham and drives a Volvo.

Sounds like a mixture of Cruel Intentions and Twilight

I haven't seen Twilight, but it was a little like Cruel Intentions. Except that she wasn't a slut and she wasn't mean. And her cross wasn't that big.

She used to use it before tests.

I included Twilight bc they drive a Volvo and they're all goody-two-shoes Cocaine before a test? Interesting. Most people just use good ole' Adderall or Ritalin.

The way I think of it is that at some point, coincidences make people skeptical. A friend had like 4 people hit her car over a 3 month period, none of which were her fault, and her insurance company tried to raise her rates. They said that even though none of the accidents were her fault, they saw a pattern and said she was high risk. She found another insurance company, and they didn't find any concern. Unfortunately for Auburn right now, certain people will hear shooting, and if they are looking for dots to connect, they will wrongly connect them. This is why, as an Alabama fan, I think it's just as important for us to say positive things about Auburn and keep the shitheads from connecting dots that don't exist.

When I read many of the posts in this thread I'm reminded of how many young posters there are on TD. If you don't think this horrific event does not have a negative effect on Auburn's Brand then you know little about Brand building and public relations. Auburn will recover as long as more of these evens do not happen. The Auburn Police Department and Auburn University officials will meet several times to make sure off campus parties will be more closely monitored. Auburn Athletics does not want a repeat incident of this nature. Recruiting is competitive enough to not have to worry about swaying a parents feelings away from Auburn in regards to their kids safety.

Schools from other college football conferences are in immediate contact with any athletes considering Auburn and their school. I have full confidence in Auburn and other SEC schools to not make the same mistakes Miami has made in regards to the image building of thuggery at the U which has contributed to the demise of Miami's football elite program status.

My thread is out of concern for Auburn. To be criticized for asking an honest question Is unfortunately typical of TD.

Does anyone think that a head coach in competition with Auburn for a recruit will not emphasize to the recruits parents how safe they will keep their kid?

Kids haven't stayed away after the Newton mess or the armed robbery deal. A shite-head shooting at a party isn't going to have any huge long term effect either.

Go back to flaming UA. This thread is dumb.

If AU is winning, it won't matter. If AU is not winning, that will be what keeps kids away..not some random act of violence.
