Cause they didn’t want him anymore. He wasn’t showing any signs of improving.

But he didn’t do the helicopter in front of a Boosters wife or frick a person underneath him.

Wins and losses as Woody said.

That is not "no reason". That is why most coaches get fired. Richt got fired with 3 losses well after October.

This was decided last week after the Kentucky loss. The Florida game had no impact because the decision had been made and settlement was already being finalized.

Legal terms meaning he will receive his total buyout and LSU will not trying to negotiate it down.

You have to prove cause and cause is laid out in the contract. It’s stuff like NCAA violations or illegal personal actions. Not losing games

Cause = breach of contract on the employee's part.

I’m guessing Cause opens potential litigation of a public institution that could release unknown information.

LSU is a hard place to coach you have to win big every year. Good for him less stress gets a ton of money to go away we all should be so lucky.

just read he lost the respect of the African American players for telling them he supported trump. That isn't very smart African American football players will bond together against a person that called hatia an s-hole country and called Louisville rate infested. He also called African American congresswomen low intelligence that isn"t going to fly with African American players. A coach needs to keep politics out of football and should never support someone that he knows his players don't like.

It's almost like all these insiders and experts posting on here assuring us it was a matter of time before LSU canned O for cause and wouldn't have to pay a penny on a buyout were completely full of shite. If LSU had a smoking gun of "cause" ( ) they'd have pulled the trigger before the season. Anyone with a lick of common sense knew LSU was going to pay out the nose. $17million big ones later and the insiders are standing there with a stupid look on their face.

O knows where the bodies are buried so LSU is paying him $17 million to keep his mouth shut.

O got fired so LSU could enter the Arch Manning sweepstakes. Plus his skirt chasing and losing the team in the summer of 2020 didn't help

You first post this gem:

quote:

A coach needs to keep politics out of football

And in the EXACT same sentence post this:

quote:

and should never support someone that he knows his players don't like.

So, let’s get this straight…a coach should keep politics out of football while making sure he supports the same politicians as his players?

What if some of his players support opposing politicians than some other players?

Because, there isn't a clause for cause unless there is a pause in the clause cause sufficient to the laws of cause... understand it now? Me neither.. it's in his contract to maintain a high status quo while not publicly embarrassing the institution thereby giving said entity justifiable cause to dismiss with prejudice the head football coach's Position immediately and without haste pursuant to laws of, codes of etcetera..etc..et.etat..etal.
