If we made a list of "teams that have a realistic shot at winning the football playoff," Notre Dame is on that list. Alabama is on that list. Georgia is on that list. Vandy is not. LSU is not, given how their offense has looked this season. Maybe Ole Miss and A&M are, but that's close.

Same old committee crap. Putting emphasis on losses over good wins. Notre dame is playoff bait. Hope they get an sec team in the first round…adios!

ND dumped UGA last year in the CFP, so...

And ND has a lot better QB this year. Not quite as good on D.

It wasn't just an SEC team..... It was the SEC Champion they beat by 2 scores.

Same reason ole piss is high after beating what the rant calls an overrated lsu team. Same reason lsu was high when beating an overrated Clemson team. Who the frick cares. shite will take care of itself towards end. Do you have to post every random thought you have in your miserable life?

At this point I'm leaning towards them not being the best team in the state of Indiana. Much less CFP contenders.

Yes, they walloped us (I kind of suspect Petrino tanked that game to get the HC gig), but beating a team on a 4 game losing streak is, perhaps, not the greatest flex in the world.

It is that or hang their hats on beating a Boise team that isn't close to being one of their truly scary offerings.

Is the poll based on how they have performed or their potentiality.

Oh a combination of both probably.

When Saban first came to Bama and we were heading on up, I would say they should look at resumes.

Then after we started reliably winning, I would say it should be based on potentiality.

These days I just say, base the rankings on how Vegas would rank them as they get it right more often than even the so-called "experts".

I'm pretty sure though that the playoff committee (whatever the hell that is now) will go purely by resumes.

Both of their losses were very close games. Not seeing an issue with it.

Only thing that doesn't make sense about it is Illinois' ranking with similar losses. Granted, I think top to bottm Notre Dame is a top 5 team potentially

They almost beat very good teams and those teams are very good because they beat ND.

See how that goes?
