How does one "hope with misery"?

you're miserable because you know we stand a chance at winning one and being able to brag about it... you're SICk at your stomach because you FEAR we'll win it... but you do have some HOPE because the game hasn't ended yet, and texas could have bitch slapped us (you hoped)...

so, you're miserable watching it... but with SOME hope. until colt went down.

i doubt that. but if you're not lying, then you don't feel like most auburn fans.

I had some mixed feelings in that game. I sorta wanted the SEC to win another MNC, but I never want bama to win anything.

I was most pissed about Colt going down because it ruined the game. It basically handed the game to Bama and made it impossible to know who the better team was.

it did ruin it... i hate this exact predicament. people want to discredit you, and when something like that happens it SUPER validates them (in their heads). people are 100000% convinced he was gonna beat our asses because of ONE drive with TWO complete passes. it does take a bit of the luster away from the victory, if i'm being honest.

I think the balance of power has shifted back to Auburn. They are now out recruiting Bama. I'm guessing Auburn will win by at least 10 points this year. Remember, you heard it here first.

damn, we're starting basketball threads already?

It's still an NC. The game would have been closer if Colt played (he wouldn't have turned the ball over near as much as the back-up did), but I still think Bama would have pulled it out IMO. But, you have to admit, if McElroy had gone down early and Texas had won, there would be some Bama fans saying that they would have won if not for the injury.

Yeah, I will not say who would have won, since that is impossible to know. I was just disappointed as a fan watching it when it happened. I felt robbed of what would have likely been an epic game.

humans are humans. you are absolutely correct. and it's a really good psychological defense mechanism that protects a very fragile ego.

it's right of the Texas fanbase to believe in their team no matter what.

i mean, i'm happy... period, NOW. we got it, it's in the history books, and in the end... no one cares or remembers shite except who won and who lost.

But Mac sacked up and played with 2 broke ribs...so the only one who "went down" was Colt your "If" is worthless, here.

Props to him for doing it. I think he's a very good QB. My point was that there are always fans that make excuses and what if's when their team loses. I've been around long enough to hear excuses for everything when it comes to sports. And some Bama fans are no different in that regard. I remember the Shula years.

if you remembered it how we do, you'd definitely understand the rationalization processes that come with the territory of having Shula as your coach.

you wanna talk about putting up EVERY SINGLE mental protection about still believing in your school?

those were some dark times. i don't blame a single fan for putting their crimson blinders on during this time.

I agree, I always said, "Bama is like a son to me." I will be the first to jump up and brag on 'em when they do good, and I will be the the first one ready to bust their arse when they screw up." Yes there are Bama fans who make excuses, ( All teams have 'em) but not only am I not one of 'em, I will straighten out the ones that do.

Some of their fans are thinking that they will beat us (Mississippi State) by 4 or 5 touchdowns or more in Starkville.

They really think that they are one of the elite teams in the SEC this season.

Im predicting that State puts them in their place early on.

What coach isn't on a mission?

Auburn fans disrespected Chiz more than Bama fans.

Nobody can possibly know who will win the next Iron Bowl.

That is all.

Honestly, I don't really worry about Auburn anymore. As of now they are just one of those teams I go ahead and put a W by.
