I went for the 3-2 game. They had the "Bulldog Bash" on Friday night and they had a band in the street and tons of people and beer vendors in the street. The bars were on the street to go into as well. No Open Container law that night and the whole street was like a huge bar.

I had a great time and would give it a 8. I don't know what it would be like if they didn't have the "Bulldog Bash" though.

that would change things. when we got there we went to the stadium friday night and there were about 100 people total, and we were told to leave our whiskey in the car or risk being arrested. When we got to the tailgate we asked about the law and the guys there asked why we wanted to drink whiskey so early (it was from 8:00 pm, after driving from BR).

The bars are all small and they practically close at noon. The military has sent me all over and as far as partying goes it is a solid 3. The people were nice though and they have a Mugshots.

I'd say a 3.5 or 4. Tops, though. If it's not a big weekend, worst overall experience in the SEC (at least Vandy has Nashville).

Doesn't the Cowbell stay open later than 2 because it's considered a club? That's how Supper Club is in Auburn.

I had a great time in Starkville. Good people, great food, and no police to get you for DWI while trying to find US-45.

If you like going to a bar with a 2:1 d/v ratio with a bunch of overweight dudes wearing Columbia pfg shirts, all while "she thinks my tractor's sexy" is playing on the stereo, to be topped off the next day in a smaller, less classy, copycat grove, then you'll love it.

Only been once back in the mid 80's when Arnsparger was head coach. LSU was up for a Suger Bewl bid if they won, but they lost. Didn't see much of the town so can't rate it, but I haven't been back since and have no desire to ever go there again.

BTW, did yall know that Starkville is an old Indian word that means "Trailer Park"?

its certainly not LSU but if you cant have a good time getting drunk with your friends and watching football, you shouldnt go anywhere.
