This! Boosters didn't try to sabotage him actively. Now, they probably didn't help much but it wasn't active interference:

This is part of the problem, though.

We have been told by Auburn fans on this board that it was:

1. Auburn Boosters
2. Auburn AD
3. Past coaches, players

I can't imagine past players/coaches bringing up the Clesi thing. They would bring up working conditions etc.

All that said, part of the problem would be not knowing who you have to watch out for and who can or cannot be trusted.
Whoever did the investigation did Auburn no favors by not naming where the accusations came from. That alone leads me to believe that the boosters had at least a part in it. The AD would not name them because they didn't want to lose donation dollars.

I get all that, but where did you get this information from? Is there a link to a story or some corroborating source, or is this more message board scuttlebutt? More than once I have seen people try to reason stuff out on this message board and all of a sudden that becomes repeated by everybody as a fact. Later the truth comes out and it isn't anywhere close to what was repeated as the facts. (Arik Gilbert is one example. and we could both probably come up with others)

Don't misunderstand. This happens with all fan bases. We tend to all take a rumor and repeat it as fact. I did not mean to insinuate it was unique to Auburn.

Ole Miss fans realize it’s been since the 60’s since they won the sec and know they can’t win it at all.

Kiffin would win it at AU. Facts are facts. AU has a bigger budget, brand new football facility opening, and OM is second tier.

Back in January when the dead period was lifted, Harsin only went to schools in Birmingham, while Kirby went to 27 schools. This was before the investigation.
