I wish the plan was to cover the exterior of the south like the rest of the stadium. Not sure who's idea it was to just brick along the steel.
Probably to keep it looking somewhat uniform? IMO it would look a little odd for the SEZ to be bricked from ground to nosebleeds while the bricks stop lower around the other levels.
But of course I'm just spitballing and have no real idea.
Layman's perspective.

It doesn't need to go any higher. Just compare it to the north end.
It doesn't need to be that nice, but has too much of an erector set feel. At least most of it will be blocked off by the Bright Complex.

I guess that just doesn't bother me, then. And I would expect the north end to be nicer (like you said), because of it's location across from the MSC along the Joe Routt promenade.

Good point.
And, honestly, that'll never be a prime perspective of the stadium as long as Bright stands. The primary feature will be the video board. Won't really be able to appreciate a nicer brick facade even if it were there, IMO.

Probably true. Remember that they are constructing a "front entrance" of the football facilities from Bush. It is an old Sherman project that is still going through.

Is this still Mizzou's longterm goal:

Not really. That's an image created by a Bama fan with a CAD program. I don't see it being far off though. South end zone isn't planned to be that big until a few other things happen.
ETA: The real mid-term look will be more like this:
The gray parts of the south end zone are supposed to be the next step.

Oh really? Didn't know that was still in the works.

Well, yeah.
However, Mizzou football being what it is, I doubt we could support a 90,000 person stadium at this juncture, which is what that image appears to be.

Y'all should go big in the South endzone or not do anything at all. I also like his idea of wrapping the North endzone seats into the grass.

The Texan Embassy frowns upon this pessimism

Easy solution: round up all these damn beakers and hold 'em at ransom until they ditch their cartoon feathers for black and gold and plop their happy asses down in Farout.

Some pictures of the SEZ expansion, from different perspectives, during and after Bayou Country Superfest.
It's pretty damn imposing from the field
And just because, the living-legend George Strait. He put on a fantastic show and getting to see him perform in Tiger Stadium was incredible.

Boy are you going to be disappointed when you find out that no brick is going up on the south side.

That new press box has to be unmatched...
...I'm guessing there will be a view to the outside as well?

We do try. We're pretty much all construction junkies in this thread.
