The Student side Canopy will only block sun for about a half of football if the game starts at 11 AMish. After that it's a Heat Trap " I Mean a acoustic deflector".

Not related to current expansion projects, but I stumbled upon some pictures from the 1940 Sugar Bowl that you Aggies may enjoy.
Texas A&M (SWC) beat Tulane (SEC) 14-13 in front of 73,000 at Tulane Stadium.
Tulane Stadium's expansion had just been finished in 1939. Here's a picture from a month before the Sugar Bowl was played.

Actually, the official word I heard was for symmetry/aesthetics between the East and West sides

It's because it is a remodel and not all new and only halfway complete. Once they are all done they will likely try to do something to make it look more coordinated but a few parts will always be older.

I think youre mistaking the color maroon for the color brown
