our track renovation looks about done. looks really nice (especially if you saw it before). I'm sure its not on par with Arkansas's facility but it's definitely an improvement. Just need to add some things to the walls so it doesnt look so drab.

Here's an older rendering I found for what the field house was supposed to look like when finished:

The design concept may have changed somewhat since then.

They've broken ground on the parking garage here that will go along with the new basketball arena. The new arena should be up by the start of the 2016 season. The football expansion should be ready around that time as well. That entire section of the campus is going to be shut off. I am so glad I won't be a student for that cluster frick.

Nice division title on the end zone wall.

If I recall, A&M is the only one who doesn't have one.

My first and only trip to Tiger Stadium was this past season when an injured Manziel couldn't fend off the weather and LSU's players Super Bowl level motivation to pull out a win.

It wasn't loud.
There were tons of empty seats.
There was tons of piped in music.

yep unless its bama or a top matchup there will definitely be empty seats

For a little perspective, This is what LSU is aiming for...(The red is showing where the new ribbon screens will be placed BTW)

...and this is where we are as of yesterday...

And FYI, LSU is redoing both the home and visitor's locker rooms:

Also, according to Emmett David, associate athletic director of Facility and Project Management, the south end expansion of Tiger Stadium construction is 65 percent complete. This expansion will be ready for Sept. 6, the first gameday next fall.

New athletic facilities in progress

That was of February 4th. We're north of 65% now, with 6 months to geaux!

Those are great shots for showing pre/post comparison.
It's going to look solid once it's complete.

Also FYI, this is LSU's new $8.5 million Tennis Facility...

At one point, it was going to be located on LSU's South Campus. They've now moved the location back to the main campus.

quote:

A new tennis facility serves the second development funded by TAF. Located south of Alex Box Stadium and adjacent to AgCenter LaHouse, the $8.5 million, 73,000 square foot building will boast six indoor courts and 12 outdoor courts when complete. The design meets NCAA regulations for nighttime and televised play on ESPN. “Tiger Athletics visited peer institutions and used specialty design consultants for this championship play arena,” said Emmett David, associate athletic director of Facility and Project Management.. Construction on the project will begin in May, David said.

Work on the south side of CWS has begun. This pic shows removal of the top seats to make room for the luxury boxes.

What's the total number of suites planned for the new CWS? By my count UK should be up around 75 suites after the reno.

There are 40 existing suites. The renovation appears to be adding 20-25 on the south side.

New suites, which will be at the top of the stadium along the South sideline, cost $60,000 per season with a $15,000 capital gift due when reservations are made. Available existing end zone suites are $50,000 per season with a capital gift of $10,000 due upon reservation.

There's also ten VIP boxes in the press box:

An enclosed press box, which seats 110 members of the media, is located between the decks of the stadium’s west side. Included in the press box area are 10 private booths (three for VIPs)

TAF

With one end zone still left for expansion!

So CWS should be topping out at about 75 suites after the reno. Not bad for our size stadium considering when it was built in the 70s there were none.

BTW, TS will be even louder, if that's possible with the enclosure of the end zone. Damn, what a stadium for college ball.
