Houston Nutt is 5-6 against Bama, 5-6 against Auburn, 5-6 against LSU, 10-1 against State, and 8-3 against Ole Miss and Arkansas.

I just want to be competiitive every year.

Houston Nutt will have a great season at Ole Miss this year. A school with a mountain of money will pay him what ever he wants to come coach at their school. Then Kent Austin moves up to head coach. That won't be a bad day in Ole Miss history. He is a heck of a coach.

Frankly, like most of the Razorback Nation, I don't like HDN. I'm glad you guys have him. For you guys, he might be the best thing since toilet paper. That's great! Enjoy him! As long as you guys want to be mediocre, with an occassional better than average team, he'll be great. Arkansas wants to be better than that. So in that case, maybe we both got what we want. He will win some games that he is not supposed to and will lose some games he shouldn't. He does tend to throw his players under the bus when things go bad and will take most of the credit when things are good. But you guys have fun, he's your coach, so enjoy. I'm sure when you need them I'm sure there are some used Fire Nutt banners floating around that someone could sell you.

PitbullARK,

I think you hit the nail on the head. The expectations of an Ole Miss fanbase is drastically different from Arkansas, LSU, Alabama, FLA, UGA, etc. They will be satisfied with just winning the SEC West. While most other schools in the SEC want the big prize. IMO, Nutt should be able achieve what their fans want. He should be able win the West in a few years. I doubt very seriously if he wins the SEC. His history as an SEC coach have proven that he is mediocre at best. And, in a league that now has 4 coaches that have NC's, he won't be able to break his own mediocre record.

Taking a team to ATL twice in 10 years with average resources is mediocre? Arkansas is not LSU, UF, UGA, etc.

Ole Miss fans would kill for kind of that "mediocrity".

2 SEC West titles in 10 years sounds good to us.

And HDN @ Arkansas is not the same thing as HDN @ Ole Miss. Hope this helps...

This is the idea by OM fans that I just don't get.

Do you really think Ole Miss has more potential as a football school than Arkansas?

Explain to me how OM is in any way an "upgrade" over Arkansas, because I just don't see it.

And if things are tougher at Arkansas, why did Petrino come in and have our best recruiting class ever coming off a 5-7 year?

Petrino's first full class is better than anything Nutt did in 10 years.

Better talent Base, More SECcentric location Better history, Better tradition, fans who aren't complete dickheads. I could go on.

Because people like to play for the guy who is going to throw it 95 times a game.

I would hold your tounge on that one buddy.

More SECcentric location - so?

Better history, Better tradition, - that's easily debateable

fans who aren't complete dickheads. - dude, really?

I could go on. - please do.
