Going back to the OP in this thread...
During the HDN era, has Arkansas ever been preseason ranked in the top 10? Even top 15??
I don't get the constant "Nutt fails amidst high expectations" shite. In 2007, coming off the SECCG loss in 06, Arky was 20th in the AP and 21st in USA Today preseason. Expectations, at least from a non-hog perspective, didn't seem too high.

Ole Miss fans remind me so much of the Mizzou fans last year. If any of ya'll posted on Rivals last year the Mizzou fans were almost unbearable kind of like the Ole Miss fans have become.

What about college internal strife do you see on tv for the exceptions of transfers and coaching changes. The NFL gets a story if Micheal Vick looks at a stray animal with a smile. Point being internal affairs of a college aren't publicized. So if Petrino leaving wasn't covered then it could be constrewed that his notes were rumor. My point is that the two situations aren't the same.
You win a point there for proving that you can link an experience, but that doesn't mean you win the battle by simply saying that it isn't on the internet. I applaud you at your achieve though.
Nutt left the program with a game left to play so I wonder why you don't lump him in with your view Petrino?

But i thought Hawg fans were proud at running him out of town?
His former players that gave him hugs and congratulated him after his F'ville victory seemed to not mind..

Did I state I ran him out of town? Ever? If I was going to chase him out of town I definitely wouldn't have done it last year. With the coaches that seemed available it looked like we would have had to resort to a small time coordinator because of our returning talent. He could have stayed one more year to two and I would have been fine because when he left, we would be able to field a team of people of the age of 18.

So your saying he should have stayed another year or two?
Posted on 5/5/09 at 9:51 pm to pankReb
he should have I believe his contract was up in 2010 and the program would have been back to average.
Posted on 5/5/09 at 9:54 pm to blackrose890
So now (as a fanbase) you regret forcing him out?
Posted on 5/5/09 at 9:56 pm to pankReb
STFU -- no he should have been gone a year earlier

Fallacy of multiplicity I wanted him to be around to make sure his replacement had an easy time filling the shoes and then busting out of them.

pioneer, if we could have waited two years till our ranks looked like a 7-8 win team and replaced Nutt with a great coach don't you think we could have landed an amazing hire who would have had great success.
All in all I'm liking how things have worked out, we no longer have a used car salesmen for a coach and Petrino is going to lead us to great things soon.
