not really but all 4 of us here are sick of hearing it. The AU, UA, OM, and UofA fan think it's a tired argument.

heres the thing about houston nutt
he is a shot in the arm for programs and he was exactly what ole miss needed at the time
however, he is not a program builder...he cant recruit and he cant run a program to save his life
in a few years ole miss will hope to find a program builder to continue what nutt has started

Damn...someone should tell the scouting services. They had his class this year ranked pretty high for a first year coach coming off a 3-9 season the year before.
Please give this tired arse old argument a rest.

Needs to be said again:
His last 6 years at Arkansas he had 6 first rounders, 7 second rounders, and 32 drafted in rounds 1 - 7. That's almost 6 per year, excluding free agents.
That isn't "monumental" but is in the top half of the SEC.
Point being:
1)He can recruit. He just goes after too many "diamonds in the rough" and classes drop between 20 and 40. Most do not pan out.
2)Houston doesn't do more with less. That's a bullshite, cliche catchphrase that in no way whatsoever is backed up by statistical evidence. To the contrary, stats show that he takes more and does less.
In his last 6 years he had the SEC All-Time rushing QB in Matt Jones, a 5,100 APY gentleman by the name of Felix Jones, the SEC's 2nd leading rusher in Darren McFadden, Pro Bowler Shawn Andrews, Pro Bowler Ken Hamlin, Rimington Trophy winner Jonathon Luigs, 32 draft picks, 6 first rounders, on and on and on.....
Yet in that time frame he lost to Vandy twice, had an abysmal road record, a losing record to the top 25, a 4 win season, a 5 win season, and went 1-3 in lower tier bowls, went .500 in the SEC, on and on and on......
(And, no, going to Atlanta twice in 11 fricking years, once thanks to a Bama probation, both trips by tie-breaker, doesn't strike me as amazing.)

well according to most you all should make a BCS bowl if not play for a National Championship. What happens if Nutts only wins 6 or 7 ballgames? Do you fire him?

We hire Tuberville back at a drastically reduced salary.

Yeah, let's fire a second year coach. As long as we don't crash and burn I'll be ok. Not happy, but willing to give Nutt a few years to stabilize the program.

Our goal isn't a BCS bowl or the National Title. Its the West Championship. Which isnt completely out of the question. Anything past that is a plus.

Nope, the master plan is that we will infiltrate the UArk athletic program. Once completed, we plan to plant lies, rumors, and semen samples everywhere so that Arkansas will be forced to send him on his way.
Thus getting Petrino to Ole Miss while also getting paid by Arkansas...
but then petrino's A.D.D. will kick in and will skip town on us. so that leaves us all back where we started.
