Houston Nutt part 20

I'm sick and tired of Hog fans posting all this garbage about Nutt. Has any Arkansas fan ever actually looked at your immediate recruiting base and compared it to the rest of the SEC? You, Kentucky and Vanderbilt are the weakest recruiting bases in the conference. You also have one of the weaker athletic budgets in the conference.
If you want to go to a BSC game, you pretty much have to beat LSU or at least play better than them. In case you haven't noticed, the state of Louisana produces about 5 times as many D1 prospects, or FIVE TIMES AS MANY 4 stars or 5 stars or blue chip players as you. And like Arkansas, most grow up wanting to play for the home state school. Alabama, Auburn, and at least 1 of the Mississippi schools should be beating you most years with a good coach.
Nutt won over half his career games in this conference. That is not mediocre, it is amazing, and you won't have another coach in your lifetimes do it.

Arkansas is not very high in the pecking order for Texas or Oklahoma talent. The SEC does not get much recruiting exposure in Big12 country. If a kid is good enough to compete in the SEC and he's from TX or OK they are usually going to one of those schools, not Arkansas.
I like Nutt at Ole Miss b/c it's a much easier place to recruit than Arkansas. Nutt should have taken LSU job when Saban recommended him.

LSU was not going to take a coach that at the time was going on and off when it comes to winning.
