and wish you guys some success (except against LSU) this year.
To hell with the Black Bears. I enjoy seeing them getting beat down by every team in the SEC. I'm glad they replaced Vanderbilt as the SEC's doormat. I hope it's a tradition that is continued throughout the rest of my life and long after I have passed from this world.

Well shite no one was still there the No Ar game. I'm more so talking about the other games previously where it was common knowledge that if TSWRA continuted the FDWL wouldn't

Ole Miss probably gets hated on more than any other program of similar caliber. I guess that's something to be proud of, sorta.

He's definitely downplaying it, but I don't think it's as you're making it out to be either. The truth is somewhere in the middle.

Somebody please tell me what TSWRA and FDWL are?

You people are playing the race card too much. When is the last time a highly rated recruit has come out and said that OM was racist and he would not even consider it? I'm willing to bet not many

It's not so much the athletes that we get in on and show us interest, it's the athletes that potentially could be interested in us if they had not already written us off from what he has seen or been told.
Btw what time did y'all leave Sun?

Around 1 or so. Wanted to go early so I could listen to the game. I shut it off not long after

Once again, the OP was asking about 40 years of history, not just the present.
I normally recoil at efforts to force college and pro teams into hiring black coaches, like the Rooney Rule in the NFL, because I think it should be based strictly on merit. That said, in the case of Ole Miss, I think it would do them a lot of good to find a qualified black coach if Hugh Freeze doesn't work out. I think racial history is third or fourth on the list of why they struggle athletically. It's significant enough however to make a bold move like that.

The biggest problems with Mississippi colleges is that you have 3 D1 schools in a small state. Plenty of talented athletes, but half of the top 40 every year doesn't qualify. Ms Juco football is loaded with SEC talent.
I suspect you have the same problem in Louisiana as well. Ignoring the NOLA charter schools for the moment, most of our public education system is probably little better than Mississippi's.
The difference is, if you want to play big-time college football in Louisiana, there's only one show around.

1. Adminstrational imcompetence
2. Second lowest Athletic Budget in the SEC
3. Dilution of instate athletic talent
4. 20 solid years of mediocre to bad coaches
5. Apathetic fanbase
Race doesn't even crack the top 5. Make the appropriate adminstration and coaching hires and your program completely changes i.e. State in the last 5 years, LSU after Dinardo, Alabama before Saban. God damn some people have short memories.

Agree to disagree. The 2 main problems are bad coaching and or a coach not getting enough time and lack of top quality athletes.
The first is an administrative issue that hopefully is now fixed.
The second is due to race issues, not enough MS talent that can qualify, etc.
Both problems affect winning but which is more important? I don't know.

There's no evidence that race has affected our fortunes half as much as any of the factors I listed in front of it. In fact you would be hard pressed to find one specific example of racial intolerance that hurt the university as much as Pete Boone, Houston Nutt, Coach O, Cutcliffe, etc.
The dilution of instate talent and the educational system flaws speak for themselves. Race is only brought up by people who are looking for an easy scapegoat to blame for complex issues that have plagued Ole Miss for sixty fricking years. The GOB network is the constant in this equation not race.

Well everyone's entitled to their own opinion. I guess it doesn't really matter. As long as we are all pulling in the direction to help Ole Miss. And hey we didn't have Bobby shitting all over this thread and we actually had a rare debate on TD.

So as long as we're all in here, does anyone know the situation with Snoop and Jeff Scott's academics/eligibility?
