Seriously? Southern Culture? Not the on-campus Klan rallies?
Perception is everything. Every recruit that has had this perception and has made it to campus for a visit sees that we are not what others perceive us to be despite what other people and coaches tell them.

It's not serious you just wanted to bring your GO TO HELL TSUN attitude into a discussion thread. Go back to genespage.

Money is a big issue at Ole Miss.. We do have our fare share of rich donors but due to the previous administration a lot of them refused to give because they didnt like penny pinching pete. I think most of them will come back thanks to the New AD. He has really impressed the fan base over the past few weeks with how much he can connect to fans on every level. Not just the "elite$$$" fans boone used to do.
Ross Bjork came to the student section of a baseball game just to hang out with some student that tweeted at him. I dont even think pete boone knew what twitter was.

100% agree and I really believe we are on this path.

The way I see it:
1.) The administration.
That's it. Orgeron proved you can bring talent into Ole Miss. Was he a good coach? No. But he was able to bring in talent (and Nutt lead them to an impressive season and Cotton Bowl victory with that talent). The administration needs to bring in a top-notch coach (who can recruit his arse off) and for crying out loud, keep up with the facilities. I'm not the type of fan to say Vaught stadium is a high-school type of stadium. I think it's nice on the inside, but compared to the rest of the SEC...it's a significant drop off. I'm not sure about the rest of the facilities (weight room, indoor facility, etc.)

The obvious answer is all the race issues with OM over the years, but no one wants to admit it. I even saw a poster say 'Southern Culture' was a reason for their struggles.
I thought about this, but do you guys really lose guys to D1 schools for this in past 10 years?
I do think AD is a big issue- as pointed out Joe Dean was never gonna produce for us...

You are a truly bad poster.

I've actually thought this same thing. Having a lot of friends that went out of state to Ole Miss I wish the rivalry brought the same passion that it used to. I like visiting Oxford for LSU-Ole Miss games but, as a previous poster stated, the fans seem like they could care less about the game. Hell, even State fans will engage in a little good humored shite talk and we push their shite in every year.

The OM people you hang out with must be horrible because in my experienc race didn't mean shite when it relates to OM

The OP was about the past 40+ years. Adding a black bear as a mascot isn't gonna make up for everything overnight.

But at least you got that cool "this is our state" thing going for ya. Technically though alabama, auburn, lsu and arky could claim that.

You must be in the minority because 2 years ago the whole student body had a choice between FDWL or yelling TSWRA, they fricked it up and chose TSWRA. I credit it mostly to out of state frickers who don't give a shite about FDWL but never the less it happened.

Change what exactly? Do you even know why the Klan showed up? Hint: IT WASNT TO SUPPORT THE SCHOOL. What racial tension is there on campus right now?
Posted on 5/9/12 at 9:47 am to HottyToddy7
The minority were the people that chose to say it not the people that didn't. The only people who I know that say it never even went to OM. They sat in the student section at games and graduated from State.
