Seems as though Arkansas has had a breakthrough in Ridgeway. Deal with it.

Kinda early for that kind of claim. Kids havent even started the 2011 season.
I know you're pumped about some good gets, but c'mon.

With whatever it is you have a problem with. Apparently, it is Arkansas getting kids out of Ridgeway.
I mean, did you not come in to this thread saying we are not locking down Ridgeway right now, yet we have two commits from there so far?
Whats with the argument out of you? You usually know your role when dealing with me.

What's so dumb saying we could devlop a major pipeline in Ridgeway? We could have 4 commits from there by the end of the weekend.

My point is no one is gonna lock down memphis, especially Ridgeway. Memphis kids
1. Rarely qualify
2. Usually lack fan favoritism.
3. Are very open to everyone
Which is why IMO no one will lock down Memphis UNLESS memphis state steps up, which won't happen.

just forget it, I tried explaining it, but it obviously went right over your head.
Now for some news from our camp that YOU Woopig can relate to

Ashton Henderson, a squatty defensive tackle from Jenks, OK was the best inside player there and it didn't exactly look like he was going to get an offer from his performance today.

Good Lord. You have no clue about recruiting in Memphis then. Tennessee has never really had a good foothold, even during the mid-90s. Alabama, Ole Miss, and even LSU recruit the area better than Arkansas ever has.

Right, but we're probably going to sign 4 or so this class, which is a new thing for Arkansas. We are excited about a possible new trend. The past is the past, and Arkansas is recruiting the southeast much more than it ever has.

We've signed two kids out of Memphis in the last 8 years despite it sitting on the Arkansas border and having a ton of Arkansas alumni living there.
Our fans are just excited that we are finally recruiting there again instead of abandoning it all together which had become the norm for most of the last decade. It makes more sense putting in the resources to Memphis than South MS/LA.
This is the first year our coaches have gone hard after Memphis and it looks like we are going to get 3-4 out of there. I think we have all the right in the world to be pumped up about the results we are already seeing in year one of their new focus.

My point is it is a far cry from working on making Memphis a pipeline, than "owning it" after just one successful recruiting cycle.

you can be pumped up, but no one will ever control Memphis. It's like trying to control Iraq

As a Memphian, working in HS athletics.... I can say that more qualify than not, but you are right that no one will lock down Memphis.
It should basically not be considered instate for UT bc there are 6-7 other SEC schools as close or closer to Memphis as compared to TN. There are a lot of transplants here, thus meaning that while there is a fair number of TN fans, there are plenty of Bama, Ole Miss, LSU, etc fans around town.
Typically, TN can get 1-2 kids (sometimes 3-4), Bama can get 1-2, LSU can get 1 or 2, along with other schools popping in and grabbing kids here and there.
IMO, you will not see any pipelines developed by one school either. The balance of power, especially at the public schools changes to often. Kids move around, coaches more around. Memphis teams these days just do not consistently pump out talent year after year. You may see it in 1-2 year cycles, but not long term like in places like South Panola, etc.
