Sewanee, followed by Tulane.

Take Vaught out and it's Ole Miss by a mile.

Yep, our most successful coach in history, Allyn McKeen. He went 65-19 at State.

“But that’s not how it works.
I’d love to have Alabama’s 9 forfeits back from 1993. Or the 21 vacated wins from 2005-2007. Having those 30 on the field wins back would have Alabama on Michigan’s tail for most all-time wins. But it doesn’t work like that.”
But the difference is State did nothing wrong.
A football player got a discount at a clothing store that was available to ALL STUDENTS.
The Barbaric NCAA declared the player ineligible. Coach Tyler filed a suit in 1975 and got an injunction from the court to allow the player to play. The final decision did not come down until 1978 and unbelievably the NCAA won. Still boggles my mind today.
So 19 victories and 2 ties (1975-1977) became losses. Not vacated but forfeits (losses). Completely ridiculous and just flat wrong.
We were 9-2 in 1976 and had a great team that year.

Why would you take Vaught out? Are you going to take every programs best coach out? Are you going to take Frank Broyles out from Arkansas and his 144 wins?

Until Jackie Sherrill came in 1991 state was historically terrible. He and Mullen were by the best coaches they ever had.
Not the best ever, but in the modern era.

Shows we didn't care about football, what more proof does anyone need.
