homie, did you go to college? do you know how piss easy it is to poop out a psych/english/whatever degree? i got an actual degree but had to take "core" classes. english class. i get a B the black athlete gets an A. i look at his paper and it's literally a 5th grade book report tier piece of shite. this is fricking vandy.

I don't get this line of thinking. What makes it a social experiment? It isn't like this is the first time a former big-time player decided he wanted to get into coaching. It may or may not work, but if it doesn't work it won't be because Sanders doesn't understand football and how to operate in a locker room. He may or may not be a good coach, but I have zero concerns about him getting through to his players. If there's one thing that we know the man is good at (besides playing DB), it's communicating in a way that makes people listen to him. Plus, he's fricking Deion Sanders. He could command the attention of any football locker room in the country simply by walking into it, because of who he is.

I think you grossly underestimate the intelligence level of a star football/basketball player. Some of these guys couldn't make it past 7th grade, much less any normal college class.
The universities are pushing them through because they generate massive cash. Really the only schools who are doing it the way it's supposed to be done are probably the Ivy league schools.. but of course nobody goes to those games.
