UGA wins the east, and goes to the sugar bowl at 12-1 (they lose in the SEC Championship game)

Unless we meet in the SECCG, UGA doesn't play Bama.
Personally, I will reserve judgement on the season until I see how the Ol gels through the fall practice. However, that is the only unit I am particularly worried about right now. As long as injuries don't decimate the others, I was pleasantly surprised by what I saw in the Spring. As for receivers, no doubt Green and Durham will be missed, but I think the SEC will see Branden Smith more on O and having the talent at TE will also help to increase available targets for Murray.
I realize, given the times of the games, I was likely one of the few posters on here to actually watch the Georgia games last year. As pitiful as UGA played in the first half of the season, those losses were mighty close and usually came down to an Ealey fumble inside the 5 yard or a King fumble within FG range, so yeah put me on the I don't give a shite whether those two guys are back or not bandwagon. They also sucked at pass blocking which helped contribute to the loss vs. Arky.
Also, I would just like to point out Fairley's sack total against UGA last year--0. So Ben Jones was doing something right, if not completely right. Every shot he took on Murray was after the ball was away.

I also think the early losses had a lot more to do with Bobo limiting what Murray could do with the ball than with green being out. Sure, anytime you have a guy like Green not being alowed on the field it is going to put you back but you can compensate for the loss. He's one player. Bobo and Richt both said publcily last year that they didn't let Murray do nearly as much as what he showed he was capable of, be it because they weren't positive that he could handle it (he can, obviously) or because he didn't have a comfortable back up last year

Didn't UGA lose another starting OL right at the end of spring
Sturdivant got hurt a while ago. About a week ago we lost another one but he was a backup that has only played spot duty. Still though OL is one of our weak links this year. The starters are strong but very shaky depth.

See, I'm not willing o say shaky just yet. It's more unproven depth
Lee has played spot duty.
Kolton Houston hasn't played after redshirting last year
Brent Benedict was a highly rated recruit who hurt his knee and will be good to go in the fall, so we'll see how he does
Austin Long is 6'5, 302 RSo but hasn't played due to a back injury. Should be good to go by the fall
Then in the freshmen we have Zach DeBell (depending on how much weight he puts on he could fill in at RT if need be), Watts Dantzler (the only freshmen already big enough to play immediately, but not sure on his technique), David Andrews, Hunter Long, and Xzavier Ward (huge body, but needs to get up to 300+ lbs and work on his technique)

If Andrews is in the game we're in big trouble.

FWIW I think Andrews, Ward, Long, and either Debell or Dantzler (not both) get redshirted. Otherwise I think, if we remain healthy, we can get by with just Lee, A. Long, benedict, Houston and on or two of the freshmen

it was Tennessee's QB that reportedly had a rough spring.
Bray was excellent in all the 1s v. 1s work and scrimmages and throughout spring practice, other than the spring game.

People base their entire perceptions of things on one practice, which is why I find it hilarious LSU fans think Mett was as good or better than Murray simply because he outperformed him in the one practice they saw them play.
Still though, 5/30 is flat out terrible.

Has Bray gained any weight or is he still emaciated?

He has gained about 10 pounds, reportedly.
But FWIW, this was the last 1 vs. 1s scrimmage (the week before the spring game)
quote:
PASSING:
So. Tyler Bray 17-30, 258 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT
Sr. Matt Simms 6-16, 45 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT
Fr. Justin Worley 10-15, 64 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT
RECEIVING:
So. Da'Rick Rogers 6 catches, 120 yds, 1 TD, long 32
So. Justin Hunter 5 catches, 77 yds, 1 TD, long 30
So. Matt Milton 2 catches, 34 yds, 0 TD, long 19
Jr. Zach Rogers 2 catches, 19 yds, 0 TD, long 13
Jr. Mychal Rivera 4 catches, 44 yds, 2 TD, long 23
Fr. Brendan Downs, 3 catches, 14 yds, 0 TD, long 7
So. Rajion Neal 7 catches, 35 yds, 0 TD, long 10
So. Channing Fugate 2 catches, 17 yds, 0 TD, long 14
Hopefully that is a sign of what's to come rather than 5/30.

On the road at UT, UGA hasn't won there in a while.
UGA always struggles against UF.
USCe, Auburn, and MSU are all toss ups.
Honestly, UGA has no excuses not to win the East this year as they have an INSANELY easy West draw compared to the rest of the division and probably the best QB in the division.
But that team has just not played well in a while now. And because of that, it's hard to predict better than 8 wins.
Last year, Colorado was an auto win. MSU was an auto win. Hell, they even lost to UCF in what was supposed to be an easy win. So you see, until UGA is more consistent, predicting 11 regular season wins which they haven't done since 2002 seems pretty ridiculous.

9 wins at best. Georgia will never be anything more than average at best with Richt as the head coach. CMR should have been fired 2 years ago.
Georgia sucks!!

Yup. It's the same hype machine each year for UGA though.

After a 10-3 year and finishing #10 in the country he should've been fired?

I'm really sad the one time I'm not on here we get an 8 page thread devoted to UGA

well except the years he finished in the Top 10 consistently... I realize this country is all about what have you done for me lately, but by the end of the year, the 2002 and the 2007 teams would have probably beaten just about anyone in the country.
